  2. I'm 5 days post op and my stomach is still tender. Hurts to bend and if I sit up a certain way it feels like it's pulling and hurts.

I hope you feel better soon. It hurts when I get up and walk because my stomach feels tender and also feels like it's being pulled. It's such a weird feeling. Makes me hunch over and have to hold my stomach when I walk. I girl a know that had hers the same day I did, went shopping for hours today and then came home and sat in the floor and wrapped Christmas gifts. I'm no where near ready for that I know everyones different but still

Wow. That's crazy! I'm seeing a lot of people saying they have no pain. All I'm thinking is, "lucky you!" I went back to work after 6 days. It killed me. I should have taken longer off! Feel better!

  3. I don't know if the mashed pintos and cheese from Taco Bell is a good choice. It might be full of fat and made with processed cheese, which is not good for you, so I personally wouldn't go that route. As an alternative, you can have nonfat or low fat refried Beans. You can even put a little bit of light sour cream on them.

Cream of celery Soup was my favorite during my full liquid and pureed stage. I mixed in some of my unjury unflavored Protein powder to get the Protein, which is important.

Mashed sweet potato, mashed canned carrots.

Some high protein foods during the mushy/pureed stage that I liked: scrambled eggs (I did Egg Beaters), cottage cheese, refried Beans, nonfat plain greek yogurt (mixed with a little stevia to sweeten), chicken salad made with mashed canned chicken and nonfat or lowfat mayo.< /p>

Oh, I wouldn't eat the Taco Bell. I just see a lot of people go for it. Thanks for all the ideas

Cream of chicken soup, cottage cheese mashed up, little bit of mashed potatoes. I am 11 days post op and i still cant eat much either. Popsicles have been a life saver, not only refreshing but gets the nasty Protein shake taste out of your mouth

  4. I had my surgery 12/12 as well.

The dry heaves is the Worst!!!! It seemed constant for me until after I got my swallow test and they gave me some magic meds to take it away.

I've been in pain, but my Dr. had his patients up walking after surgery. We had to do at least twenty laps total around the hospital wing.

Walking makes the pain feel a little better. It helps prevent blood clots, but also will move the gas around if you have any. Walking has become my best friend in relieving pain other than pain meds.

I have 3 incisions and one incision for drainage total 4. The one on the right is very painful as that's where the majority of the work was done.

It hurt so bad I couldn't even move after surgery. I sleep sitting up elevated by pillows and when I'm in pain between meds I walk.

You said your eating yogurt? I'm on clear liquids the first 3 days don't know if that could b making your pain worst.

I have 7 weeks incisions. Two close to my belly button. Left and eighth side. Monday, had no fluids. Yesterday Water only. Today all Protein shakes and tomorrow until next week they said I can do creamy fluids.

  5. I too had my surgery Monday, and I just hurt all over from all the pressure. I came home last night around 6:30pm and did nothing but sleep until almost 11am. I am trying to get liquids in but it is so hard.. I have barely gotten half a bottle of Water down and 2 tiny bites of yogurt. I try to walk when I can though. I hope it gets better too. The dry heaves are terrible.

I also had surgery on 12/12. I am struggling to get my liquids in and am spending most of my time on couch. Anyone know when we start to feel better?

    Hopefully soon.

I had my sleeve on the 12th also, and came home yesterday. I slept most of the night, but have been up and walking the house today. I did take a good nap this afternoon, and have been sipping hot tea as my liquid to help with the gas, and sucking on my gas x strips. I have minimal pain so I took Tylenol vs the oxycodone they prescribed. I am praying it gets better for you both.

I had mine the 7th and my right side was the only painful spot and my surgeon says it's common because that's where they took out the stomach. So maybe that's the same for you. Try ice chips to get Fluid in. It allows you to keep your mouth wet and hydrate with slow sips when you swallow.

  6. My stomach burned my head hurt badly. I felt like I was starving. I had no energy. I had a two week liquid diet when I did mine. It gets better and then it won't even bother u at all

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That's how I feel. And I feel Like I have a lump in my throat. My head is pounding. I'm grumpy (lmao poor BF of mine and my mom). I can't wait until Monday. Then it'll be all over.

  7. I am on day 4 of my one-week pre-op diet. I am doing ok but I have found that I definitely have periods of feeling down physically and mentally. I take heart in reading that most people say this is the hardest stage and that after surgery the hunger won't be as bad

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Glad you're doing ok on it tho! I'm pretty sure I'll do good. It's just a mental thing for me. Lol. Like omg I'm not sure I could ever eat this again. I feel bad bc I'm having pizza tonight before I go on it tomorrow
