Ive lost 51 pounds since Aug 1 and now weigh 199. I haven't weighed in the one hundreds in 4+ years... I'm not losing as quickly as I was in the beginning but that is to be expected. If I had to guess I'd say I lose between 2-3 pounds/week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What does everyone use to minimize their incision scarring? I've bought neosporin and the stretch mark cream for expectant moms but both are too greasy really to use before work. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sleeve & birth control
biggiesmalls250 replied to haleymarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have nexplanon and it's been wonderful! I have been consistently fat since I got it almost 2 years ago (read:no weight gain). I love that it's in my arm too, I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of anything being stuck inside my uterus especially since it can travel. With nexplanon, I'll always know if it's moved and it hasn't Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Grocery Stores

I don't have a nutritionist since I was self pay. If I could do this over again, I would have gone through insurance so I could have the pre op counseling and nutritional info necessary to be successful instead of overwhelmed and on the verge of tears 75% of the time. I am still in the purée stage as I am only 2 weeks post op. HOWEVER, I know we are supposed to follow a sugar free low carb diet but...have you ever tried to find sugar free anything at a grocery store? It's next to impossible. I mean good lord milk even has sugar in it! Is there a certain amount of sugar that y'all allow yourselves daily? Like maybe shoot for under 10g of sugar/daily? What is your daily cal/carb goal for 2 weeks post op? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Maybe I should've narrowed down my comment to say that i was mainly talking about gina's extremely rude comments, and in general the other condescending comments that I come across on this app. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Instead of shaming and talking shit, why not offer good advice instead? All of you negative nancies are doing more harm to Ruby than good by reacting the way you are. If she's made to feel dumb, she'll never come back to ask for advice again and that is the real tragedy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was eating creamy chicken Soup for like 5 days and had enough. Today I decided to make angel hair Pasta, a can of plain tomato sauce (2g of sugar), with a scoop and a half of Bari Clear Protein powder mixed in, blended it all together in the blender and let me just tell you IT IS DELICIOUS Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Next I'm going to try blending up Mac and cheese probably auntie Anne's brand because it's gluten free Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I feel you as I also am 1 week and 1 day post op and lost almost 26 pounds so far. It's been a very difficult and very hungry 284758 weeks. It's also hard to be excited or impressed by my weight loss when I have eaten exactly 0 foods in going on 3 weeks now, so why should I be proud of my loss? I'm 8 days post op and experiencing severe dry mouth! I'm meeting Fluid goals so I don't understand why my mouth is so dry. Has anyone else had this symptom? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I agree. I hope you have post-op visits scheduled? Usually you see your surgeon at a week post-op and I believe again at 2 weeks. They may allow you to have purees sooner. Yes my first post op is this week and after that it is once a month Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I agree. I hope you have post-op visits scheduled?
