Day 4 of liquid pre op diet
LisaMarieVSG replied to Bella1017's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so thankful my surgeon only requires a two week pre-op diet of sugar free, low carb/high Protein foods. This diet will also shrink your liver. However he is strict with his post-op diet, as we are required to stay on clear liquid for 10 days then advance to full liquids for 10 days & after that its 10 days of puréed food. I know others sleeved patient who are cleared to start eating soft foods just one week post-op. The diets really seems to very with each surgeon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm scheduled for VSG on February 13th. I think it's completely natural for our emotions to be all over the place & to question what we are doing, this surgery is permanently removing 80% of our stomach and it cannot be undone. But I do believe we will become healthier, stronger & more beautiful women in the end. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

February 2017 Sleevers
LisaMarieVSG replied to DJ's Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Both my mother & I are having surgery on Feb 13th & my best friend on Feb 14th in Tijuana. I was initially planning on having the surgery alone. When I spoke to my mother about what I was planning on doing, she mentioned she wanted to have the surgery. We were able to get both surgeries scheduled the same day. About a week later I told my best friend about our upcoming surgeries & she informed me she too wanted to have the surgery. I gave her the contact info for the surgical center and they were able to schedule her surgery one day after ours. I'm so blessed to have my mother & best friend, join me on this journey. -
Date for feb 20th
LisaMarieVSG replied to Kila Rass's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I imagine your ticket was quit a bit more. Unfortunately, I didn't get a great deal either due to the fact that I'm flying out of a teeny tiny airport, instead of just driving the 2.5 hrs to the nearest international airport. I felt I wouldn't enjoy driving 2.5hrs home after just having had surgery. So instead I booked my flight with the teeny tiny airport that's 20mins down the road from my house. -

I booked my flights with American Airlines, partly due to the flight schedule I needed & partly because the tiny airport I'm flying out of only offers AA & Delta flights. -

Need advise/loan pending/Self Pay ?
LisaMarieVSG replied to Beajay's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
@@Beajay Have you heard back weather or not you were approved for the 401K medical hardship withdraw? I'm in the same boat as you and wasn't sure if it would be approved, I was told it may be consider cosmetic surgery & if so it will be denied. I have a BMI of 35 with no commodities. And since I don't meet my insurance requirements. Self pay is my only other option & Mexico has better VSG pricing compared to the United States.
