I did it! Got sleeved yesterday 9/2!
#BirdDog replied to #BirdDog's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
As for my bi-pap issue, the new mask isn't helping. I called my doctor and asked if they would approve switching my machine into auto bi-pap mode where it adjusts itself to be proper pressure. They said sure and mailed out a memory card with my new prescription. After downloading the data from a couple nights sleep I'm seeing that my pressure was way too high now. It was at a max of 17, now on auto the highest it's gotten in the last few nights is 9. My wife says I've been much quieter in my sleep and no snoring events. Yay!!! Success!!! I noticed today that I have felt much more rested. So I'm going to have them switch my mask back to the one I'm comfortable with and have been using for the last couple years. -

Right now they want me to get up to around 800. I struggle with that, most days only getting in the 600s. The nutritionist added some things that are low in volume but higher in calories and added some good stuff too. Like mixed nuts. I've been stomaching them well and my weight loss has continued without missing a beat. I'm not overdoing them in the least. Just as a snack if I need the boost in my numbers. I was up and walking the same day as my surgery. At my two week appointment he stepped up the amount of walking I was doing. Then at about the same time as I went to solid foods I got the okay to start an exercise regimen. I've been going to the gym lately three to five times a week and I've been getting in some form of excessive every day. Today I skipped the gym and did a 15.8 mile bike ride with my brother and his wife. -

PatchMD Vitamin Patches
#BirdDog replied to VSG_Brandnewkindame's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started using the multivitamin patch yesterday, I have blood work due in two weeks. Time will tell. My nutritionist said as far as the medical community is concerned the verdict is still out on these. She said some people have seen great success with them and others are still coming back deficient. But she said they're definitely worth a shot. -

It should be pretty easy for me. I am scheduled to work and even have overtime on Thanksgiving. Sooooo, probably won't be that many food temptations for me. -
YES!!! I am constantly freezing. And living in Washington State our winters have a tendency to be a touch on the cold side. Not looking forward to this winter.

I have the same thing now if I take too big of a sip. Have to take it real slow.

How much weight loss in 2wks?
#BirdDog replied to itsmytimetoshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will get some real varying answers but for me at two weeks I had lost 13 pounds. I have averaged about a pound a day since my surgery. -
Nutritionist suggested I add nuts to my diet since I was struggling to get in enough calories. Actually it's helped my weight loss so far. Time will tell. I weigh out my servings and count them in my daily goals.

Congrats! Good luck during your surgery!

"I saw someone sneeze in the spaghetti, it ruined my appetite." - that'd probably stop all the questions -

Awesome! Nice to hear others sharing how much of a game changer this surgery and lifestyle change can be!

I wasn't given any guidelines on that but I found it uncomfortable to lay in any other position for a while. But then again I was a back sleeper anyway.

Awesome! Keep it up!

Really examine what you're doing. Journaling your food, being strict to the diet, not cutting any corners. Not advancing too fast through the stages. Walking. If all of that is in line just keep on the narrow road. It will come off. -
Congrats on your decision to make the change!!! I know a lot of people are bummed when they find out they have to do 6 months of weight loss. It was a very important 6 months for me. It let me build habits that are helping me be successful. It's all a process, take full advantage of every step! The surgery is just 1 small part. My timeline was about 8 months before I was able to get my surgery. The 6 months plus working appointments around my work schedule then scheduling surgery. Even at 8 months I felt kind of rushed at the end.

Each day should get easier and easier! Congrats! Walk walk walk

Stop when full, or push on to get required protein in - confused
#BirdDog replied to trekker954's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I get isopure drinks at GNC. 40g of protein in 20oz. So I get in a good chunk of liquids and protein just from that, then I eat the rest of my protein. One of my issues is getting in enough liquids so this has been a good help. I stop eating when I'm full, pushing on is how I got to be obese.
