Vitamins suggestion...mine I can't tolerate...
#BirdDog replied to visionmom77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am using the multivitamin patches from PatchMD. My labs have been perfect. -
Definite call to surgeon. At this point you're not completely healed and the nerves have not come to. Serious damage can be done this early out.

How long do you stay in the hospital after surgery

3 day camp retreat. What to pack

Jacks Links brand Turkey Jerky. Numbers are great and don't need refrigeration. -
Lol! Sorry you fell but I like the NSV!

I shrank out of my wedding ring, felt weird not wearing it. I ordered a package of the silicone ones in every size. So I've been going through those. Kind of nice because if I get then caught on anything it will break before I lose a finger.

Crushed by today's weigh-in
#BirdDog replied to White Sale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's hard, I totally understand the frustration. The scale is going in the right direction, gotta give it time. You're going to do great! -

Awesome! Congrats! -
I didn't really start to get nervous until I had rolled into the hospital on surgery day. That's when it really hit me. I was so focused on my goal of having surgery prior to that, that I didn't have time to get too nervous. But once I was out of surgery and starting to recover the nervousness went away and I've been on the losers bench ever since. Totally worth it for me!

1st actual meal 23 days POSt Op
#BirdDog replied to Gucci's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 28 days I was on mechanically soft foods, nothing there I could have had. Heck even now at 18 weeks out the only thing there I may have would be the shrimp scampi, even then I'd have to drain the fat. -
I was very happy with my Fitbit, only reason I changed is because I wanted the additional features of the Apple Watch. But as a fitness tracker the Fitbit blew the Apple Watch out of the water.

Congrats! -
Hang in there, it's short lived, then you'll be on the losing side and things start to get easier.

I had quite the opposite issue. My wife was hiding in the pantry eating cookies as to not be eating in front of me. I thought it was sweet of her but I preferred her just go about business as usual. Doesn't bother me at all now when she's having some cookies after dinner. But she isn't offering me any out of respect. Sounds like you just need to have a chat about it, I like to think he's not trying to sabotage you.

Working and Eating
#BirdDog replied to staci.garza13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a small cooler at Walmart, put fishing decals all over it to personalize it. When I'm not going to be somewhere that I can have the food, I pack it full of stuff I can have. It's saved my butt many times since my surgery. -
My surgery was yesterday... so much pain!
#BirdDog replied to dayna2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walk as much as you can, helps all of that clear. I was off the pain meds within a week. -
Type 2 Diabetis and Gastric Sleeve
#BirdDog replied to jacque2250's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was taking two pills a day for my type 2 diabetes, that stopped the day of surgery. I was checking my blood sugar regularly post op and found it to be great, at times a touch low. My surgery was on September 2nd 2016, my starting weight was 370 and I'm down 124 pounds now. I don't feel like I've been losing slow at all. For me so far so good! -
It was scary for me too. But I came to the realization that if I didn't go through with it, I wasn't likely to live another ten years, or five for that matter. I went through the same question during the preop diet. "If I can lose weight now, why have the surgery"... well because I've lost a lot of weight over and over and over again. Each time gaining it back and then a few extra pounds to boot. This was the best decision I've ever made. Not everyone has a ton of pain, I was only on pain meds for about a week. My sleep apnea is MUCH better, my blood sugar is fine, blood pressure is fine, and my cholesterol is fine now. I was taking a handful of medications each day, now I take 1. I am able to move around better and am much healthier. The benefits far out weighed the cons for me.
