    Sleeved yesterday!

Congrats! I was amazed at how fast I recovered from the surgery. You'll be back to feeling like a normal person in no time!

    3 weeks out, food volume?

When I was on the puréed stage and I had mashed potatoes, I added unflavored protein powder to it to make it more worth while. Helped boost that number some.

    "Gurgling" sensation when eating

    1 month post op- sleeve

I needed to hear this today! It's been a few days since I've seen the scale move and I've been very focused. I too need to increase my water not getting 60oz in.

    Surgery day!

Hope it's all going well for you!
  8. Made my appointment with the sleep doctor today! Also went and joined my local YMCA. Awesome facility, going to start my gym regimen tomorrow after work.
  9. For the last week or so I have been extremely tired no matter how much rest I get. Pretty certain it is an issue with my bi-pap machine or mask as I suffer from sleep apnea. Making an appointment with my sleep doctor. Hopefully they can get it straightened out quickly. Fingers crossed they can tell enough from the machine download that they won't make me do another sleep study.
  10. Updated before and after. Feeling pretty good. Ready to start getting some more variety in my diet. Started at 370 and down to 297 and still dropping!
  11. Thank you! It was a huge milestone for me. My next one will be when I hit 270. . I'm on my way.

Hiking & Camping VSG Food Ideas

Not bad ideas. Just curious what people who had the sleeve took with them. I know it's important to keep your energy up while hiking but we get in such little food that the choices are very important.
  13. Before my surgery I used to really enjoy camping and as much hiking as my body would allow me to do. Now that I'm post op, have lost some tonnage, and am working out more I plan on starting to hike a LOT more. I'm looking for food ideas for backpacking, hiking, and camping that are VSG safe, light weight, easy to make, and not going to halt my weight loss. So let's hear it, what do ya'll take?
  14. Having started at 370 I am really excited to drop out of the 300s. Thought I'd be there with my weigh in today but alas I was 300.3. Darned scale got me again. Oh well hopefully tomorrow. That would be an awesome way to start my day! Soooo close!
  15. I had some pain. It was about a week into it that I stopped taking my prescription pain killer. Didn't even take over the counter stuff.
  16. Did a bit of yard work today and forgot to eat something. Started feeling funny, light headed. Decided to have a couple wheat thins to tide me over until my wife was ready for dinner. Dumped the entire box on the floor. FML. Oh well, the dog was a happy.

    Filled? Discomfort? Satisfied?

It's important to eat slow. Give plenty of time between bites. For me eating slow has let me get in tune with my body a little more and made it easier for me to recognize when I'm done. Eating to the point of discomfort is not wise, it's your body saying TOO MUCH!
  21. Things are still going good, I'm down 60 pounds since the beginning of my pre-op diet. Had my one month post op appointment with my nutritionist just as I'm coming off of the food restrictions. I expressed to her that I'm scared to start adding things back into my diet. She just said to take my time and make sure I'm getting my Vitamins, Protein, and liquids in. Avoid the bad carbs and keep on keepin on. So that's the plan. It sure is nice to see the weight coming off. I've dropped a few clothing sizes so I'm going to start hitting the stores for some work clothes. Not buying anything expensive yet as I'm still losing weight at a pretty good clip. We went out to eat with some friends a few days ago. For the first time in a long time I didn't have to worry about fitting into the booth. That's a WIN for sure! Not huffing and puffing after taking the stairs at work and my energy level is getting better each day.
