    Cereal

I ate cereal for breakfast on Saturday. Everyone is different and everyone has different triggers. For me personally, it isn't a trigger food and I enjoy a change to my usual greek yogurt from time to time. I like the Special K protein cereals with a little Fairlife milk.

    Subway

I love turning my favorite subs into salads at Subway. Obviously you have to wait until you are cleared to eat raw veggies but when you are I say try a salad. Or even a wrap, sometimes when I really want a sandwich I will make a wrap which Subway does have.
  3. Mine has always been high so I haven't noticed much change but I have noticed that the sex itself is better now that were both much thinner. My hubby has lost 50 pounds himself and I'm down 110 almost so the actual act is so much better.

    Upper/inner thigh fat

Shockingly my thighs have shrunk down the most in my weightloss. I was for sure worried they would be a super problem area and they aren't that bad. My inner thighs have some sagging but I actually have slight thigh gap at the very top. Me.... thigh gap. My arms and upper abdomen are for sure my problem areas. The smaller I get the bigger my muffin top is getting as the skin gets loose. It's awful, I feel like I had a smaller muffin top when I was 300 pounds and my arms.... hot mess.
  5. 9 months post op and still can't get warm. I think this is just my new normal. Having to wear light sweaters and long sleeves to work because the air conditioning is so cold in the office.
  6. Upping calories, for me, has broken my stalls effectively. I had a long (5 weeks) stall between 5-6 months and I thought it was never going to end. I tried lowering my calories and that didn't work so I went the other way, upped them a little and bam, lost 10 pounds in about 3 days which is big for me as I'm a slow loser. I genuinely lost about 1-2 pounds a week. I've actually been in a stall the last month. I lost 10 pounds in a day due to a stomach bug, slowly regained 7 pounds over about a week and then have lost those 7 pounds again over about 3 weeks and have been stalled since then, it happens.

    My old life

I'm 9.5 months post op and feel more normal that ever. Now when I go out with my girlfriends I actually have leftovers to take home instead of being the only one to clear her plate and order dessert. I think it's important to remember that with time this will be your new normal. Im at a point where I can technically eat or drink anything but I've found that I don't want to do that. I have had maybe 5 drinks since I was cleared to drink at 6 months post op and I've realized I don't really care to drink anymore, it just does nothing for me but fill me up and I don't really care. I can still have a glass of wine on special occasions but I no longer have that desire to just drink until tipsy/drunk at social gatherings. My advice, give it time, it will change your life.

    What's In Your Lunch Box

I eat Greek yogurt for breakfast every morning so I have to switch my lunch up or I would lose my mind. I bring a number of different items. Sometimes I do little protein packs with meat, cheese and nuts and put them in a container. I will sometimes make a sandwich using the Very Thin bread by Pepperage Farm or leftovers.

    Carbs

I do not follow super low carb and my NUT advises against it in the long term. I'm averaging about 90-110 grams of carbs a day currently and am still in the losing phase though I'm nearing my goal weight (15 pounds until goal). Per my NUT complex carbs are good for the body and we need them. I'm not personally carb sensitive though so if you are or you find carbs to be an issues that leads to cravings I would eat less.

    Wth

Not sure where you are in the process but fresh post op I had pretty bad hiccups every time I ate. I spoke to my surgeon and he said it was normal and it would stop and it did. Now I don't get hiccups any more often than prior to surgery though I do burp much more.
  11. After surgery I couldn't stomach protein shakes for a while so I went with a protein water. Atkins makes one and so does GNC. They set much better with me and I drank those for months. I'm back to shakes now though at 9 months out I drink one for breakfast. I found the Atkins ones are not bad. The strawberry one is the best in my opinion, it tastes like Strawberry milk. Also if you go with powders to make your own concoctions check out using Fairlife Milk to get a little extra protein

    I am bumming out

The stall is normal so don't worry about that. It will pass. As for the eating, my NUT also wanted me eating a small meal every 2 hours in the early days. I would get a note from your physician saying that you need to eat every 2 hours at this time due to a medical condition for work or get a note that allows you to keep a protein shake on you and drink that at work . As for school maybe excuse yourself to use the restroom and have a snack you can eat in your purse/bag/pocket outside of the classroom. Something quick with lots of protein. I'm not sure where you are in your diet progression but nuts, beef jerky, cheese and protein bars are all good options.

    Ladies????

I find that I need to eat more during my time of the month. I tend to eat small meals more often during my time and make sure I'm making the healthiest choices possible. I did speak to my nut about it and she stated I may need more nutrition during my period and to listen to my body and up my calorie intake and protein intake during the that time. It's worked for me thus far.
  14. You look amazing, keep up the good work. Even though you are an Auburn fan
  15. I wore leggings the two weeks I was home on leave and was back in my dress clothing when I returned to work after two weeks. My pants were not super tight from my prior weight loss but still not super comfortable until about a month out.
  16. 9 months out and I can eat completely "normally" the only thing that bothers me is eggs. I generally eat 3-5 ounces per meal, depending on what I'm eating and can drink similar to prior to surgery.
  17. Didn't have to shed all my excess clothing/shoes/accessories at the doctors and was still under 200 pounds. I used to dread stepping on the scale and now I'm not worried about it.

You know you lost weight when

Same! I was a size 20/2X last fall/winter prior to my surgery and was down to an 18 by spring. Now I'm a size 12/14 and a S/M. Time for all new clothing, which is starting to get expensive. Downside to having all 4 seasons, I need different wardrobes

You know you lost weight when

When the weather takes a quick turn towards fall and you realize you need a whole new winter wardrobe and head down to TJ Maxx to grab some sweaters real quick and end up buying smalls. I've never been a small anything... When you go to the doctor and no longer shed everything you can before you get on the scale. And they don't have to push the scale all the way to 300 and count back
  20. My C- Section was far worse than this in my opinion. The worst part of this surgery for me was the drain site, which was removed after 24 hours and the gas. Getting up and down and getting comfortable in bed were issues for about a month total but the actual pain began to subside by a week post op and I was back to work at 2 weeks post op with no issues.

    Spicy food

Ive had no issues with spicy food and actually eat quite a bit of salsa and have been since I was on my pureed diet.

    First cheat since pre-op

If it makes you feel any better crackers were allowed as part of my plan on my soft solids portion of the diet. And at 9 months out I still eat crackers from time to time.

    Calories

My NUT/Surgeon will not give me calorie goals. I'm sitting at about 1200 calories a day at 9 months out and still losing. 10 pounds from goal so slowly upping my calorie intake. I've asked my NUT several times where my calories should be and she just told me to make good choices and it won't matter.
  25. I was on a Fentanyl drip for about 24 hours post surgery. It was a PCA so I controlled when I got the meds. Once I was given my leak test and allowed to drink they switched me to Norco tabs which is basically Viocoden. I mostly took it at night to sleep after the first couple days home.
