It happens. If you aren't doing a food journal then start one. I've been stuck for the past 2-3 weeks but since upping my calories a bit the scale has started moving again.

I use Centrum complete chewables. They don't taste great but don't make me nauseous. My surgeon also recommends flintstone complete.

Please take it easy and allow your body to heal, I hope you're feeling better soon. I gave my family a "to do" list and that worked out great.

Absolutely normal...everyone's recovery time varies. Not that you are but try not to compare yourself to other people who have had the surgery. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is take the time to listen to your body. I have been a mentor/educator for almost 3 years, also a patient, and I have worked with a lot of fellow patients who ignored what their body was telling them. Such as lifting things that were to heavy to soon. Some developed infections under their incisions or hernias. Remember those incisions on the skin are just points of entry you have had a dramatic surgery. I often have to talk to spouses and children and explain this to them in hopes that they will be more helpful. Best of luck to you and much success.

I wish I was one of you minimum pain people. I was in serious pain. Couldn't even cough or laugh without having that concrete stuffed bear on my stomach that the hospital gives you.

Stick to your weekly plan of what foods to eat given to you by your doctor. Also measure the quantity. If they say a half cup stick to it.

Do not lay down after eating or drinking. If you haven't experienced this yet save yourself some pain.

On a vegetarian diet, vegan diet, there is NEVER ANY recognition of Protein deficiencies. B12 yes, but never protein.
I have no idea why people can say there is no protein in anything but red meat or poultry. If you look up the makeup of foods, there is protein in a lot of things.

Feb 1st here. Can't believe tomorrow is my one month surgaversary already! Hope everyone is doing well. I've not had any issues with my pouch not liking certain foods, but I'm still on the soft stage for another 1.5 weeks. Down 15 lbs as of last week from the surgery day, but then had the 3rd-week-stall that so many do. The scale will start moving again this week, I can feel it!
Other Feb folks want to check in and let us know how you are doing?

My surgery was also on Feb 6. How you doing today. I'm feeling pretty confident so far just getting sick of the Fluid consistency for meals. I've been looking at recipes for phase 2 meal ideas. There a lot out there

I am scheduled for surgery on March 6. I am finding myself really waxing and waning emotionally. I am worried about the same thing. I am not hungry on my Protein shake fast, but I find myself wanting to eat. I am worried I have some huge food addiction issues that I am not addressing because this makes no logical sense! Gah! I was in a convenience store to use the bathroom earlier and a girl spun around and stuck a piece of shitty pizza in my face and I wanted to throat-punch her. Also, in my pre-op class today, some idiot who was there to "support" a friend, brought KFC. I feel weak and like a complete loser.

I had rny in December. After reading a lot and talking with people, I've realized that everyone's experience is unique.
At this point, I can eat almost anything. If I'm craving something, I just eat really small amounts. Of course I'm cautious about calories. I always keep my intake of sugars, carbs and fats low. If it's a "new" food. I literally try 1 small bite. Sometimes a taste is all I really need to not feel deprived

Ladies just want to encourage you to walk, walk, walk and to know it really does get better so start with the end in mind. I didn't feel like walking then but made myself do it to feel better it really does give some relief. I'm a little over 3 months and happy to say it felt like I would never get here and thankful it went faster than anticipated so know your time is coming soon ladies!

Pillow for the ride home, slippers and bathrobe if you prefer and change of clothes for when you leave. They will give you gasx, biogenesis, cepacol (sore throat), and toiletries if you need em.

I'm sitting in the surgical waiting room. I can't believe this is actually happening. I'm excited. I prayed this morning and I know God is in control. You guys just don't know how ready I am to begin my new life. I understand that it's a tool and I would have to put the work in but the fact that it will help me to achieve my goals is awesome. I've been unhappy for so long.
Let's talk. I'm bored. Any advice? Encouraging words? What should I expect when I wake up? Pain?
