  1. I'm so thankful that I found this thread. I am 8 months post op vsg and I am experiencing the same exact symptoms that you all are describing whenever I eat or drink. I've been in and out of the hospital more times that I can count since January, and had every test that you can think of. My Bariatric dr did find a "bulge" (his words) at the very top of my stomach that had developed that he believes is what's causing me the pain, and I'll need to have it corrected. Today I'm actually going in for a Bravo PH study procedure because he wants to check acid levels in my esophagus first before he corrects the "bulge". For anyone that has had their issue corrected through surgery, did your symptoms improve? How are you feeling now?

I admire and appreciate your honesty on this post! I myself am having my fair share of complications and wish that I had heard more about people's complications before I had surgery 2 months ago. I pray that it gets better for you Hun.

    Length of hospital stay?

2 nights. Was released late afternoon on the 3rd day. I had to stay a bit longer due to my blood pressure spiking post op, uncontrollable nausea, and inability to drink enough (they required 40oz a day in the hospital)... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had VSG on 6/8, then had to have my gallbladder removed on 7/12. For me, the Gallbladder removal was much much worse than the sleeve. The recovery pain was horrible, I'm not sure if that's because I had the surgeries so close together or what but it's still hurting me today, and I haven't even been cleared to go back to work yet at almost 3 weeks later. The VSG surgery in my opinion was not that painful at all; the worst part was the nausea, sore throat, and chest spasms while learning to drink again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
