Any feedback will be appreciated. In March I was diagnoised with severe acid reflux and had all my fill taken out. In May I had breast reduction surgery and am loving that. But since March, I have put back on 25 pounds. I am ashamed of myself and am kicking my butt over it. I am working on getting back to that food diet and consumption of food. My biggest concern is going back to get fillled again. I know I've done wrong, but I need to get back on the horse, so to speak. Any of you out there ever backtracked like this? Thanks....

Thank you both. I go back Sept 2 and start with my fills again. I've also started a water aerobics class, 5 days a week. Your responses are welcomed and appreciated. I talked to the doctors nurse a few weeks back and she said that I wasnt' the first person and I wont be the last. I've been trying to eat like I have the band on, and remembering the hungry pains. But I'm ignoring them, as much as possible, because I want this to work.

Just wanted to share the news. 52 pounds and 26 inches. It's been a couple of rough months with some highs mixed in. In April, my oldest brother was diagnoised with lung cancer, 9 to 12 months to live with treatment. On Easter Sunday, my first grandchild was born, a girl: Skylir. She is beautiful. Slowly the weight comes off, some weeks it goes back on, and I don't let it worry me. I keep looking to the future and know, there will be ups and downs. 5 months later, my grandchild is thriving. Growing like a weed and when she smiles, my heart does flips. But on a sad note, 5 months later, my brother died. This past Sunday. We wake him tonight and bury him tomorrow. Such large trial and errors, but yet I keep marching forward. The only way I know. I am bound and determined, now, more then ever, to get this weight off and life life to the fullest. Thanks for letting me write. I still love this forum. It's here alot of us find all the right words, to make our decision a RIGHT one. Hope everyone has a great day. Live each day to the MAX.

Just wondering if anyone has any comments on a Dr. Snow in Mobile, AL?
-
My name is Darlene, which someone is already using, but please call me D'. I am being referred out for the lapband surgery. I have researched gastric bypass, seen the good, the bad and the ugly of that surgery and have decided against it. Several cousins have had the lapband surgery and are doing great. I'm anxious yet ready. I have been heavy since 7th grade. And am just tired of carrying this weight around. I have tried Weight Watchers for 2 years, lost 25 lbs and put 15 back on. I have tried over the counter meds, but each time my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my body, so I quit taking them. I have alot of questions. So get ready.

Just wanted to say hi. Waiting for the Ins to approve surgery. I saw this thread and decided to post. I ride a Kawasaki 500. I am still just learning, but well, was wondering. When you guys got banded, how long did you stay off bike? Did you notice anything different, in the feel of your insides, as you rode? Thanks,
-
Hi Dispatch, Here it is May 28 and I just read your post. So, did you get banded? I hope so. Right now I am holding at 40 pounds. They call this a plateau? So, I need to do something to jump start again. Good luck and let me hear back.

Starting my adventure with this procedure next week. Is there anyone here from the coast? Are there any groups down here?

Well, first off, I am so thankful that I had the band done. I'm 40 pounds down in just the last year. YEA!!!!!!!!! But today I returned to the doctor for a fill but instead go a talk from the Nurse Practionary. I have only lost .2 0z in the last 4 months. Well, like I told her, I was doing great, alone, till the end of March. Let me run it down like this: March 29 - Brother in Texas hospital diagnoised with Cancer March 31 - headed to Texas to see brother- family drama with daughter of another brother, who died in 2007 of cancer. April 12 - 15 year old friend of family lost his battle with cancer. April 12 - our first granddaughter was born. She is beautiful!!!. April 22 - I started my medical eval's to get checked for cancer. April 25 - Family friends wife diagnoised with breast cancer. Went today and well, they asked me to keep a food diary for the next month, to show what I am eating. I said ok. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep this weight coming off. I told doctor last May, that I would give him 3 years to loose all the weight and I will. Right now, I'm overstressed and food is great. But I have to get control of the situation, so I start over. Sorry to vent, but it really feels good to just put it out there. I know nothing surprises you all and I'm sure you have heard it all. I am still so greatful that I found this site. Have a wonderful day. D'

I know each doctor is different, but just courious: How long was the time frame from seminar to doctor appointment to actual surgery? I'm hoping to have this done ASAP, but from what I am reading, it's month(s) before actual surgery. Am I hoping too much? D'

Hello Dispatch15, I'm still around. Got banded in May. Down 43 pounds so far. Rode a few weeks ago, it was wonderful. Could just be in my mind, but I did feel different on my bike, without the extra weight. I live down on the coast. I hear you about the expense. Thank God, our insurance paid for this. I wish you a Happy New Year and good luck with your journey to be banded. D'

Happy Holidays All.. May the day be memorable to all of you. Also, Happy New Year. May it bring us all, LESS WEIGHT..

Plastic Surgery Terms for Weight Loss Patients
KatsenD replied to New Hope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'd like to add what I was told last week, from my surgery site. They have been following me since 2005 with lumps in my breast. Nothing significant is showing, I have large fiberous breasts and they have lumps. Just when a new lump shows up, I get a mammo, to be safe. Anyway, I was told that if I tell my doctor when I have rashes under my stomach flap and they note it in my records, that will be a plus for a tummy tuck. Have a good day... -

KatsenD replied to Ineedalapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would love that. I know the dr. in Ocean Springs has group meetings, but I live in Pass Christian, and that is a ways to go, at night. So, people, think about it and let's see what the interest is in it. I think this is a great idea. D' -

kind of discouraged...
KatsenD replied to trish5713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Trish, I wanted to add my two cents here. I was banded May 1, I lost 15 pounds before surgery; liquid diet. Altogether, I have dropped 38 pounds, since. The band is a tool, you have to do your part, too. Only eat small, small portions and lots of liquids, for now. I'm quilty of not drinking enough water, but I do try. The band is only a tool and you have to work with it, to make it work. I agree it might take a few fills. I am at 6cc and I just began feeling the restrictions. But, before, I listened to my body. When I had that first thought that I was full, I quit eating. If I didn't get that feeling, then I quit when I thought I had eaten 4-5 oz of food. I wont lie, it was tough to teach myself that, but I did and boy did it work. BUT, we all do it differently and it works differently for everyone. Good luck and let us know. D'
