I know, I know. There are so many threads on this, but I need to vent. I have been on liquid diet since last Tuesday. Today I started with clear liquids. So, what all can be considered clear liquids? Can the protein shakes be one? I am hungry!!! I'm steady eating the popcicles and drinking water. Can I heat a can of soup and drain the contents? Please someone help! I am to be banded Friday. Congrats!!! Let me pass on some info. My provider asked for $600 upfront, to pay for fills afterward. So I called Tricare and gave them the code they were filling the money under. It was an old code that was no longer used. So claims from Tricare said that if the dr. office will write out, what the money is used for, the reciept can be submitted for some reimbursement. "Wordage" is what it's all about. Good luck.. D'

Good Morning, my surgery is May 2nd in Mobile. I start my 10 liquid diet next week. Finished my lab work yesterday. I feel confident that everything will come back fine. I am so excited to get this over. I keep thinking, this time next month, I'll be 2 weeks out. Ready, oh yea!!! This has been 2 years in the making, just ready to get started. Well, this has me t'd to no end. And just one of a list of reasons why I am having this done. Yesterday, while I was planting flowers, down my driveway. My neighbor, who just happens to also be my cousin, was talking to some guy, I didn't know. (I live in the country, so no privacy fence separates us. And I saw them all standing in the yard, as I was pushing a wheelbarrow down my driveway.) Anyway, I overheard the man ask my cousin who I was, and he was explaining to him, who my husband was. And then I heard this, "she's a big girl, huh?, from my cousin. " I was PO big time and still am. This neighbor, nor his wife, knows I am having this surgery. And I can't wait. Sorry, but I am so sure some of you have had days like this. But, what hurt the most was just hearing this, PERIOD!!!!! And no, I have health issues, that is the MAIN reason for the band, not this petty crap. There, it's off my chest now. I hope you all have a wonderful afternoon. D':rolleyes:

Hey Kate, Like everyone said, everyone is different, and this whole new life will be a trial and error for some of us. A lady I know, who was banded in late 2006, lives on liquor. Yes, she lost alot of weight, but who wants to do this stupid crap. So it's what YOU do with it. You can't go by how others are doing it. I am so ready for everything. I'm shooting for May. I'd like to jump in here, and add my two sense. I am not banded, yet, but am on the journey to be. But, right now I have a belly flap or apron and I find that I have to shave the top of my pubic hair. Before starting to do this, the skin would chap, crack, weep, burn, sting. Everything you all mentioned, I have had that happen. But once I started shaving that area, it all stopped. I still wash and dry really well.

Congrats... That is the day that I go and set my surgery date.. Keep us posted....

No, have an appointment next month, to set the date. Just starting? Read everything, Talk to everyone, research it. Are you military? Stay in touch....

CALL TRICARE!!!!! My docs office is wanting me to prepay $600 for 6 followup appointments: fills. They are using an old code that Tricare wont pay on. So I called claims and talked to them. CALL THEM... get your questions answered.

YEAH!!!! I got approval from Tricare for the surgery. Waiting for doc office to call me now, to set up required seminar with hospital, on what to eat. So I still wait. Good thing I know what it means, to hurry up and wait. HA HA HA...

Have looked around and I haven't found this question. And if this question belongs somewhere else, please just tell me. I was wondering, after being banded, how was the sexual relations, with your significant other? The port area. I didn't ask the doc this question, just didn't think about it. Thanks, D'

Go back to Sturgis, SD and ride my own bike. Go to Devils Tower, WY and walk around the tower. Go back to Mount Rushmore and enjoy the walk around those men, instead of stopping and having to catch my breath. There's only one place I'd like to fly too: Ireland, but until I get over my fear of flying, that aint happening.

I'm in the wait mode too. And I have to go through a nutrition class at the hospital too. But I can't do anything else, till the insurance company approves me. Good luck..

Hi and good luck, just keep researching and asking questions. I just found out the doc office got my medical records, which they will turn around now and ask for permission to do the surgery. So the wait is on again. Keep us posted. D'

Hi, well, I'm in the wait mode. I saw my doc last week, waiting for ins approval. I ride a '07 Kawasaki Vulcan EN500. Only been riding a year, still learning. Doc says it could be 4-5 weeks before I get banded. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. Ride safe, D'

I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 500, I'm a newbie still, but I love my little bike. My DH has a '01 HD Dyna. But where others see the name, we just see the bikes. And it doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride and ride safe.

I've actually been riding for a little over a year. Still a newbie at it. Just got up the courage to drive 50? It's still a little too fast for me, or so it feels that way. We do alot of riding in the country, so slow speeds are great. I hope to meet and talk to more of you that have or are going to be banded. BTW I live in Pass Christian.

Saw the doctor yesterday, they are submitting everything, BUT they want me to pay, up front, $600 for 6 fills, afterward. I called Tricare and the fills are an appoved, but they have to use the right code. They wont. So I'm thinking the dr wants money that he is losing, by accepting Tricare. My thoughts.
