September 13th surgery!
olliesoda replied to inhiskingdom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So how are the 13th sleevers doing? -
So tomorrow 19:00hrs 9/13 is sleeve day. Pre-op diet went well...lost around 20lbs in the two weeks. I'm motivated, I have had a word with myself and we agreed we are ready and excited about the future. No second thoughts. However crapping myself with the magnitude of the next 24 hrs. So this time tomorrow I will be post op and on my way to a better, healthier wardrobe... I mean life . Thanks for the support from contributors here on the forum. Long may it continue. I look forward to sharing my before and afters at some stage ...! See you on the other side.

I won't lie there has been gas pain. BUT... If you walk and move around it calms straight away. It is starting to dissipate now. I've been sleeping in a recliner for last two nights that's helped, I struggled in bed. It's only for a few days so worth it. Overall I have had little pain. Luckily don't worry to much. It's all for the good!

I think the UK and US offer differing advise especially around Protein pre and post operation. If in doubt id follow your own surgical team directions. This worked for me losing over 20lbs in the two weeks.

I followed this plan lots and lots of Water. I had a shake for lunch and the lunch/dinner option at night. I had fruit occasionally too. Hope this helps good luck!

So had my first full day post op yesterday. Wound pain was ok, thanks to drugs! Trapped gas was a challenge but frequent walking helped that.i managed to take in 1400 ml of various fluids need to get that to 2000ml today. All in all better than I expected

I was sleeved yesterday. How are other's doing?
olliesoda replied to marrse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi.. I had mine yesterday too. Arrival to home in 20hrs. All going very well. All liquids stayed down. No sickness and pain ok. I'm planning for the pain over the next few days as the body adjusts from the surgery. But the various drugs will help with that My liquids are lined up for variety..... Milk ( some hot as latte) Water Lemon tea Jasmine tea Milk shakes Soup Bovril All in all we have done a great thing. I Continue to be excited about the future. -
I feel liberated! I'm proud of myself for doing this. It's the best present possible. A new life. A longer life.

Your doing something special that WILL change your life! Good luck for 10/26! X

Just wondering why you were placed in the ICU? Was there a complication? We agreed with the surgical team in advance that due to potential sleep apnea I should have close observations. Added benefits of monitoring has contributed to me coming home after just 20hrs!! So far I have had no issue and been able to keep down milkshake, water, beef Soup. I'm bracing myself for a couple of days of pain as the operation takes its toll. It's done now the only way is down ( in clothes size) feeling really positive about the future. Building my NSV list. Xx

Enormous Weight Loss: Just the Tip of the Iceberg.
olliesoda replied to Cervidae's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Abby wow. I have my op next Tuesday's my biggest fear is that I change who I am. Since I was 5 my nickname is Ollie everyone calls it me my family friends colleagues all. I'm not sure people even know my name is Anthony. Why Ollie? Oliver hardy. I love it ...Ollie is me. I can't be call Stan! I go on this journey to get healthier, fitter to prolong my life. A life that I love. I can't wait for my NSVs I have a list of them. I know a new life awaits.... But I will always be Ollie. I'm not ashamed, it made me know I am. I love me, others love me. Abby I have seen you before an afters..... You have inspired me and I have one more guilty secret...... I saved the picture of your eyes... They are amazing... The gateway to your soul.. Beautiful. They have always been your eyes... Always beautiful. Along our life journey we encounter assholes. Ignorant, total disregard for effect that words can have. You have been strong to do what you have done, achieving so much. Use that strength to counter said assholes, they will never understand. You are beautiful, amazing, inspirational to 1000s of us but most of all you are you. Thank you, if I achieve part of what you have achieved I will be very happy.
