  1. It's been 8 months since I decided to have the sleeve done and 7 months since surgery. It's the the best thing I could ever have done. I have my life back! I've added my B4 and images taken yesterday. If your on the journey or feel you want to get on it.... I can't begin to tell you how it will change your life IF you embrace it!
  2. Hi Lori I live in the UK, following some direct talking from my Dr. I decided to self pay and I made my decision to have the sleeve on 10 August following meeting the surgeon, had a two week holiday then went on my pre-op diet and into theatre 13 September. I had and still have full support from my surgical team. Ollie
  3. Stay positive and respect the process and you will enjoy a long life.... go grab it!!!!!

    September 13th surgery!

Hi 13th (or near as damn it) sleevers. How is everyone doing? Nearly 10 weeks out I'm loving life. Lost 60lbs, now eating normal food, still rial and error on portion on different foods. all old clothes gone, can fasten an airline seatbelt and I am mentally fit. Been for my surgeon check up and all good, I'm now off all Meds bar my Multivitamin and my 3 monthly b12 injection. Will start to ramp up the exercise now I'm still surprised how the UK and US differ in opinion on post op Protein liquids. Other than week one I did not have any. So all gone to plan and loving the decision that I made. Friend and family have been mega supportive. Below is my pre op and post 9 week shot.
  11. Approaching 10 weeks out from VSG. It's been the best decision I've made. I feel mentally and physically fitter. I've experienced NSV such as cloths, airline seat belts and comments[emoji6] I'm eating fine and living life! I'm about 40% of the way losing 60lbs. The piccy is before surgery and 9 weeks
  12. So today has seen two landmarks. 1. It's 50 days since I started my 2 week pre-op and 5 weeks since the sleeve 2. Today I have lost 50lbs That's 50 in 50! I'm made up This process has changed my life already. For those pondering... As long as you can be strong and follow instruction it will be great. Yes individual results will vary. But for me it's been a fantastic experience.....so far! Positive attitude will lead to success!

  14. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY TODAY is one month since my pre op and 2 weeks since my operation. below is a list of why I'm VERY happy today... >TODAY I STILL HAVE NO REGRETS >TODAY IN TOTAL I HAVE LOST 38LBS >TODY I HAVE HAD MY FIRST STAGE TWO MEAL >TODAY I'VE BAGGED THE FOLLOWING FOR CHARITY - 9 SUITS - 20 SHIRTS - 4 JACKETS, ALL FAR TO BIG >TODAY IVE JUST WALKED 2 MILES >TODAY MY EMOTIONALLY CHARGED 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SAID SHE WAS PROUD OF ME (AND HER HUG WENT ALL THE WAY AROUND) There is along way to go but I am super motivated! TOMORROW...... I WILL STILL HAVE A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

    Name Your Sleeve!

Great strand!! Mine is call BOB Together we are on this journey. BOB had been clam and chilled out so far...... As another famous BOB said 'Don't worry, about a ting, as every little ting is goner be alright' I'm digin it✌️
  18. I'm 2 weeks post op today so transition to purée tomorrow.....It's different in the UK as we don't use the Protein shakes as the main deal. My liquids have been Water Ice pops Consumee ( beef stock) Semi - milk with a decaf coffee shot to make a latte ( sometime with marvel milk powder for extra protein) I also so the same with hot chocolate. Fresh orange juice for vit c Slim fast Meal Replacement shakes Strained Soups Yogurt In the main the milk is the protein provider. It's been a great two weeks and I've been able to do fast walking on the treadmill the last 4 days with enough energy. Can't wait for purée !!!

Oh dear lord, were you sleeved by a team of chimpanzees? Is that all the guidance your post op instructions contains? Special K protein' drinks' are not your best option, BTW.Actually I have an excellent doctor! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hi are u in uk or us

  22. Firstly I am delighted that I have found this forum it has really helped reading about the diverse views and experiences. Thank you all for being so honest. Here is my story so far... Moment of truth. Decision made..... I live in UK and have a job I love, but it can be a huge pressure. My work takes me away from home quite often, in the UK to the US and the Far East. Over the years that has taken its toll eating the wrong food, at the wrong times. (And maybe a tipple or two) For a big guy I am quite fit but over the last years have found more aches and pains, to the point I felt the need to visit my doctor, something I don't normally do. I did this 10 days ago. Long story short he gave it me straight .....lose weight or die young....I'm 43 and heading towards an illness crisis .....and his opinion, diabetes, high blood pressure, joint problems and that early grave. I've tried lots of things I've had my ups and downs but now the time has come for something more drastic. The wake-up call I needed had arrived! I don't want to wait to go through the process and however fantastic our national health services is (and it is fab), it will take and age. I don't want to be diabetic or have a heart attack. So...... By 10 AM the following morning I was sat in a consultants office having the various options explained to me. My choice, the sleeve. Within a further 24 hours I'd booked my date with destiny September 13th (and it's not a Friday for the superstitious amongst us!) I have gone from being petrified to super excited I see a future me, doing things that I've not enjoyed for number of years... fastening a seatbelt on an aeroplane....going on the trampoline in our garden writhing rolling off! walking into a normal shop and buying clothes from a normal section. Don't get me wrong I don't want to be mega thin, I like being me but I want to be a me that has longer to live and can enjoy my family, my children, my future grandchildren and actually my work too. Mentally I've got this.....! My concerns....... Personality: I don't want to change my personality has anybody out there experienced that over the long term they change? Food: i've got my head round that it is going to be a nightmare for the first 3/4 months but after this.... Is it truly normal food but obviously in smaller portions and healthier options? Alcohol: now then..... my biggest enjoyment and my nemesis ....my consultant asked me? do you drink a lot? I said no ....however when I go out I'm always known as the life and soul of the party and the last man standing.... response you can still be a life and soul of the party but expect to be the first one falling. What have people experienced with alcohol? How much on a night out? What type? Rightly or wrongly , I've created a bucket list of things I wish to eat or drink before the pre-op diet....my son made me laugh yesterday when he said 'Dad make sure you don't die while trying to complete your bucket list'... Point well noted! If you have got to this point thanks for reading I'll be keeping in contact via the forms. I'm sure as I need the help on the journey.. You, the Warriors that have gone before me will offer the support and help needed! Ollie x
