harper hospital call jackie @ 313-966-7491 dr. g did mine and he is wonderful, he's world renoun. i would do it again in a new york minute. i've lost 26 lbs and 23 1/2 inches from neck to toes. also down 4 sizes in clothes. i was banded march 24, 2008..............good luck..............sue

this is one of the reasons i went to detroit mi to get banded, south dakato had too many requiements to me. i went to harper hospital had sugery date in less than 2 weeks. medicare paid everything except 1,024.00, that my supplemental insurance picked up. if u have anymore questions just e-mail me. i'll be happy to help u...................sue

:thumbup:Just a short note to let u know medicare does pay forthis because I was just banded march 21st. Had no problems whats so ever. You do have to go to a center of exllence however. And some states have 6 month supervised diet plan. That was my state, I live in South dakato, so i went out of state. I went to detroit mi. Had surgery date in 2 weeks. Didn't even need alot of tests. Had surgery on a fri. and was home mon. Everything went just like clock work. I had no gas, no pain and just fine in one day. I was one of the lucky ones. I'm still on full liquids and will be on them another 3 weeks. Some people go right into solids, but u need that time to heal. Sorry this got long..............but don't worry about medicare paying...............Sue

surgery is march 21 and i'm just waiting. this cant come soon enough for me. my name is sue and i live in yankton sd. this the bigest decision i ever made in my life. but i know it will be worth it. nothing tastes better than being thin................sue:thumbup:

skminnie.......oh where are u from? I'm doing just great and feel really good. No I'm not going to any support groups because Sioux Falls is just to far to drive. Idon't think there is one around here anywhere. I'm still on full liquids, but never hungry anyways. I drink alot of liquids and that seems to be enough for me right now. I've lost 20 lbs already and it sure makes a difference I can't believe it. How are you doing? I hope good. Good to all of you. I was banded march 21 and doing very well, I'm so happy that I decided to do this. I was so worry before hand and scared to death. But everything went smoothly. I had no gas pains, no pain, and no problems. I'm still on liquids, full liquids and I'm never hungry. But i know I have to to keep up my energy. I love reading all the posts, I've learned a awful lot just from reading what everyone has to say. I'm so thankful you are all here in the same boat with me............By now you are all banded so we all have alot to talk about............good luck to all.....sue:thumbup:

i would like to tell all of you that i'm on medicare and i live in south dakato ,but went to detroit mi. for lapband surgery. had no problems what so ever. theres no 6 month dieting for approval which i loved. if we could lose weight in 6 months we wouldnt need the surgery. i had a surgery date in 2 weeks thanks to my family dr. getting all my tests done in one week. living on the prairie pays off lol. its been 9 days since my surgery and i'm doing great. i had no pain and no gas and no problems except flying there and back. its was 2 very long days and i was very tired. i had a world renowed surgeon and i never met him until just before surgery. he was wonderful, we did get to talk awhile when he discharged me. his last worlds were call me anytime day or night if you have anymore questions and i would be happy to talk to you. he even gave me his home phone and 3 cell phone numbers and office number too. i would go back to him in a new york minute. i'm still on liquids, full liquids and thats fine. i'm suppose to have my first fill may 1st, but i dont think i'll need it. we'll see. i'm never hungry, but i do everthing i'm suppose to do and i'm losing weight. i've lose near 20 lbs. and exercising everyday. i do the treadmill 30 minutes and bke 30 minutes. i'm kinda disabled so that will probably be the extent of my exercising program. sorry got kinda long. if u have any questions just ask i'm hear to tell all...........foolsrushin772..........sue:thumbup: heres hoping u all do well on your journey.:cursing:

had surgery march 21 in detroit mi. its been 4 days and im doing great. everything went really well. i got home yesterday and i've already lost 10 lbs. the worse part of everything was flying there and flying back, along day. i was so scared and nervous before, but was a piece of cake. i would do it again in a minute. so all of u hang in there and dont be scared. any questions just ask, ill help u all i can...........susie:lol:

2 more days and i'm a wreck. the 21 of march is band day and i dont think i'll be able to sleep til after surgery. i quit smoking a year ago so had to put patch on to prevent me from smoking that's how nervous i am so ready for this i can't stand it. i'm actually looking forward to eating nothing,(i'm nuts) but i'm so ready for this and to get this weight off...............susie:thumbup:
