  1. Hi! For me personally I haven't had any trouble with vomiting and no trouble with GERD. My transition was fairly easy and enjoyable. I'm becoming more active with each passing day and I feel the fire in my soul stoking back to life. I'm so grateful for having done this. As for cons I wasn't a fan of the clear liquid diet but that's such a tiny fraction on the journey it seems incredibly insignificant to even mention. Gas pain is rough too but again these things are a tiny fraction of the benefits I've experienced in doing this. I'm so happy I made this leap for myself. I was sleeved November 7th And I am down 35 pounds definitely not too shabby. I wish you the absolute best in wherever you go in life. You are beautiful!

  2. Congratulations! I'm going to be honest with you the clear liquid diet sucks. I was a real sour bitch for the first couple of days. Some days are easy and some aren't. It's definitely a massive adjustment but always keep your eyes on the prize and you will make it. As for my hospital stay I packed my slippers a fuzzy robe and my cell phone and a tooth brush and I was so out of it on day one that I didn't care about my cell phone in the least or brushing my teeth. Less is more chances are your not going to need a lot of stuff for your stay. OH! And pack chap stick. That's my one thing I wish I would've remembered my poor lips were like the texture of beef Jerky while I was there lol.

  3. I felt that way when I first began my journey and like keeping track of everything would be a pain. But I found once you get into the habit it's not so bad. Once in the morning I sit down and decide what I'm going to eat and log it into the app I use to keep me on track. It has made eating less stressful for me and made it easier to stay on track. I wish you success no matter which route you take ultimately it is about what works best for you and your success and that's so subjective. :)

  4. Heck yes! That's so cool congrats I was sleeved November 7th and I am one pound away from being under 200. 5 away from being the weight I lied about on my drivers license lmao. The weight is killing me! I want to jump on the scale more then my regular once a week to see if I made it yet :P patience is not my strong suit. Seriously congratulations that's so awesome

  5. I say go to the doctor and cover all your bases. Honestly if there is any question on your mind it's important you do this for your own peace. I personally have issues with my thyroid and that had been my "normal" until I was diagnosed. So many things effect your body composition, your success depends on you nourishing and helping your body in any way possible. Also losing weight impacts your body so much so don't assume the worst. Your Dr. Can help you with your success I would venture to say better then any one of us can.

  6. I loved it before I had it honestly I knew why I was doing it don't ever lose sight of that. I've been pretty damn uncomfortable a few times but at the end of the day don't lose your sense of excitement because it'll be SO worth it. It's tough adjusting to such a major lifestyle change no matter what it is, but unless real change needs to be attained we never make that leap. Keep your head up, change your mind. You can do this

  7. Personally, never got why people like shows such as this or Hoarders. I'm not a fan of watching other real peoples' struggles as entertainment.

    To each their own, haha!

I have a deep seeded obsession with hoarders and intervention. Makes me feel more normal I suppose lol. I figure generally they go on the tele and share their stories to get a hand up/ out (depending on the person). In turn I get to feel like I'm not a complete nut for 45 minutes. Lol well that's enough of me for the day I'm off to therapy .

  8. I won't touch bread/pasta/rice/crackers/potatoes/carrots/corn/popcorn/chips/cereal until I'm WELL into maintenance, because I know that, for me and - dare I say - many others on this site, these carby foods slow down losing progress and are major trigger foods.

That being said, when I do reach maintenance, I will opt for Ezekiel bread, and will toast the crap out of it (bc it's texture is wet and kind of mushy without being toasted). It has about 4g of Protein & 3g of Fiber in an 80 calorie slice. In terms of good carbs, oatmeal is a good higher Protein option too with 6g of protein, 4g of fiber & 166 calories per cup - if you put some Protein powder in there, then you've really got a super breakfast!

Be so careful introducing the very foods that got you to the point of needing bariatric surgery into your diet so early on. I can tell you from personal experience that eating the high protein extremely low carb diet most of us are on post op is not what got me into trouble - it was carbs (mostly via delicious Italian dishes!).

  9. I was sleeved November 7th down about 30 pounds and I haven't hit a stall yet (knock on wood I weigh in tomorrow) I'm having such a hard time not comparing myself to other people on these forums that's my greatest down fall. I'm very pleased with how easy the transition/ recovery has been for me. Who knew my stubborn nature would come in such handy someday lol.
