4 days post-op, trouble staying awake?
cassandramarie93 replied to ahappycamper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your body is trying to repair itself it's perfectly normal. Everyone responds differently I started coming around at about week two. Just do your best mean while and listen to what your body is telling you congratulations on your surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
@@indyana I'm going to say it's definitely mandatory. You definitely don't want to be awake and able to be witness to what they need to do to get your tummy out that would cause undue stress and put you at a higher risk of complications on the operating table. You will be okay! Getting the surgery done is a breeze. The hard stuff comes after the fact. Stay positive and be brave. It'll be worth it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Total Rant.... Watch out for the Big Girls....
cassandramarie93 replied to Raymia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel this on a spiritual level. The fan favorite over here is, "You are so beautiful for a big girl!" I'm over here like That's swell give me a compliment and take half of it away. Thank you so much for gracing this "Big girl" with your attention. People are so careless with their words. But as it was said before confidence is the sexiest asset a women can have. Brush your shoulders off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm under blue cross blue shield my co-pay for my hospital stay is going to be $2,500 (I checked and checked again and this is indeed the correct amount.) I will also be paying 15% of what it takes to perform the surgery during my consultation I was told this wouldn't be more then $3,000 dollars. I have a massive pit in my stomach. I understand a copay will be expected upfront, but if I'm going to be expected to pay the rest of this upfront I'm probably not going to be able to get this for up to a year. Does anyone know if payment plans can be made in something like this? Any experience anyone can offer to help ease my mind? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

@@Cocoon2Butterfly I am sending you positive energy for your new beginning don't give up! I had my surgery November 7th! I picked up another 13 hour day during the week & saved every dime I earned up until it was my time. It was one of the most incredible feelings holding all of that money, it seemed so impossible when I was starting out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
For the first week post op I dreamt of Going through drive throughs in weird apocalyptic scenarios also one dream involved me playing on a 25 cent claw machine and ending up getting a pizza. lol I'm actually into dream interpretation I believe our subconscious has much to say when we aren't in a wakeful state. Now the first bout of dreams seemed pretty clear cut I think I personally was coming to terms with the fact that those days were over and it was an apocalypse in a sense. As for the pizza in the claw machine, I don't know lol. Your mind is so much more powerful then you know. Your tummy hurting is probably caused by your brain tricking you into these intense bouts of hunger or cravings. It'll pass as you become adjusted to the reality of your situation and say your "goodbyes" to your old ways of thinking. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op

Stay hydrated I ended up really enjoying crystal light initially and now plain old Water does the trick. Jello & sugar free popsicles if they are on your plan. Clear liquid phase turned me into a crabby b*tch it's tough but all you can do is muscle through. You got this- keep your eye on the prize. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Can gas pain return? I am exactly one week post op and I woke up with this awful borderline unbearable pain in my shoulder this morning. It seems very unlikely that it could return after dissipating but the similarities in the sensation is really making me wonder. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm going to be completely honest with you. I went ape sh*t before my surgery. Once i got a date i got this deep seeded fear of missing out. Which is ironic because I had that feeling when fighting forward through the appointments and waiting for insurance approval. I think that's just human nature. 24 days seems like forever but time goes by so incredibly fast. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Head hunger
cassandramarie93 replied to chiquiroxy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl. Meee tooo. I'm having a hard day today. My family decided to make pork chops with all the trimmings. I know to indulge would tear me up but damn talk about temptation. I took my Protein shake and left the house for an hour and a half until the coast was clear cause I'm sure I looked like wild coyote. Things will get better soon. I am one week post op today and I have been feeling very empowered and strong thus far although I agree today has been quite the struggle for me as well (i blame the full moon tomorrow ). Side note! If you guys haven't downloaded the app "Baritastic" to your phone. I a thousand times recommend it. It makes keeping track of your entire day incredibly easy also has an option to scan the barcode on the food your eating and automatically input it which is amazing for the Protein shakes. Also tracks your Water, calories, carbs, calories burned and has some recipes I wouldn't have found on my own! It made my journey home way easier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
