I was sleeved on 9/28 and the worse part was the pain on the left side, particularly the incision where they did the most work. It is also the incision they took out the excised stomach. It has taken me three weeks for the pain to subside. I can now get in and out of bed, the car with no problem. It does get better. My stomach still gurgles and makes funny noises but no pain. It depends on what I eat. Hope you feel better soon. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

I'm 10 days post-op, and the big incision still is sore but getting better everyday. To get in and out of bed was the worse. I'm off the prescription pain medication but take Tylenol and that helps. It does get better. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

My surgery was on 9/28 and had 1st bm 3 days later and been regular ever since. I exceed my hydration and Protein goals and I know this contributed to me having no issues related to the bathroom. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

My pleasure, this is truly the best thing I have ever done. I'm realistic that there will be setbacks, disappointments, etc., but it is better than the alternative. I'm off my insulin and blood pressure meds and hope to come off all meds by yrs end. I wish you the best. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App May I ask about your insulin or maybe you can private message me. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App What did you want to know about my insulin? I was on Lantus injection and on Januvia pill. Both have been stopped and my blood sugar is in the normal range. On insulin my A1C went from 9.3 to 6.9 but that is still not normal. It will be interesting to see what it will be after surgery. I'm 6 days post-op and feeling great. I was terrified all the way until they gave me my happy juice. Felt good right after surgery and lost 12 pounds since last Wednesday. Don't look back, look forward, you won't regret it. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

Dannon light and fit is awesome. I am 6 days post surgery and enjoy toasted coconut, strawberry cheesecake, no bits in them. I'm allowed unsweetened applesauce which helped me have first bowel movement on day 4. I'm 6 days post-op. Also drinking premier Protein with no problems. Clothes mentor is a consignment shop I have used and have received a little over $2000 by taking a few items twice a week. They specialize in designer items but will take other brands if gently used. They are always looking for plus size clothes that are in good condition. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

I am day 2 post-op and if it wasn't for the largest incision I would feel fine. I am walking, getting in my fluids, taking my pain medication and sleeping. Yesterday was awful, today was better and hopefully tomorrow will be even better. I have to believe that or it would be depressing. I hope you are able to get to 100% so you can be all you want to be for your kids. Imagine how awesome life will be once we are feeling great again. Keep the faith, this too shall pass. I meant pcp or registered dietitian Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

My insurance required either my paperwork or a registered dietitian. Fortunately the bariatric practice has a licensed dietitian although I did notice that when they billed the insurance company for the 6 sessions, it was billed under one of the bariatric doctors in the practice. Not sure what that was about. My visits with her were less than 10 minutes except for the first one. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

We are surgery buddies! I start my liquid diet next Wednesday but it is all clear, no yogurt, cream Soups, or anything like that but at least it is only for 1 week. I wish you the best and a speedy recovery. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Pre Op Nutrition Class - What to expect
bia1nca1 replied to ella37's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There were about 20 people in my class. The NUT was there discussing all things diet before and after plus the importance of taking your Vitamins and when to start. The surgical nurse was there to answer questions about the surgery, e.g., what to expect at the hospital from beginning to end. The physical therapist discussed exercise after the surgery. The class was 2 1/2 hours long. I'm always amazed at how much people don't pay attention and so ask the same questions over and over. All in all it was a good meeting.
