Chrissyboo, I don't know that you can use fruit when your on a liquid diet. Check with your nutrition dept. Keep trying other powders and don't forget the already mixed as well.

I have tried a few and it really just depends on the brand! I have tried some "premium" powders and some low cost powders. It seems to very widely. It seems like company and price really don't have much to do with it. I bought a powder from Aldi's that was just as good as one bought from GNC! All I can say is they very widely, so don't judge a book by it's cover! Keep trying till you find one you like. Some very within the brand as well. Eventually you will find one you like, and then it will be time to move on to pureed foods! There you go! Keep busy and the time will fly. I start my liquids tomorrow, but I have done his before. Hopefully everything will work out this time and my surgery will happen as scheduled!

Congrats! I have the same date! I start my liquids on the 30th as well. I have been working on this for over a year. So glad it is finally a reality.

I would check with your nutrition people, but it sounds like it would be good.

I will be starting my liquids on the 30th. Hopefully there will not be any more postponements or surprises! If I get delayed again I am going to be pissed! I have been working on this for so long, I just want it done and behind me already. I want to get on with my life. I know in my brain its for my own good, but part of me keeps wondering why does this have to be so hard! Why do you have to have major arguments with Insurance companies over a life saving procedure! The state of healthcare in America is appalling! Years ago, if the doctor said you needed an operation, you had that operation. Now Insurance companies have to argue about it for a year or two before you get said operation. It just doesn't make sense!

Thank you both. This is what I need, some encouraging words. It doesn't help that now the date is here my close family and friends are advising me not to go ahead with it. What a head mess up . What I am so nervous about is the Operation its self and the not to be able to drink or swallow straight after. I'm just panicking. WE WILL ALL BE FINE AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER. Slim jims here we come. Congrats on all the new dates. I will be starting my liquids on the 30th. Any crafters here. I am going to use the money I save from groceries to buy yarn and fiber! That is if there is any left after buying all the Vitamins and Protein shakes!

It's normal to have those feelings. everyone gets them at some point or another. Remember, this is something you have spent alot of time on . Yes, it's scary and drastic but ask yourself, are you willing to keep killing yourself? Because that is literally what you are doing to yourself now. Believe me, I just had this conversation with myself the other day! I have concluded, scary or not if I want to go on living I need this. My surgery is 9/13.

My surgery was postponed because I was taking Advil and that's a no no! Due to the fact that it's a blood thinner. I start my liquids again on Aug. 30.

I have found that after everything I have seen so far, I am a lot calmer about surgery. I will be restarting my liquids on Aug. 30 to get ready for surgery. At least I am now prepared for it. I guess you could call my first run at this a try out! I am more sure of what I should do to meet requirements now! Thanks SkinnyGalinFatPersonsBody, for noticing. Are you having surgery in Sept. also?

Hello everyone! Well I have to think positive at this point and consider my liquid diet portion a dress rehearsal. My real liquid diet will start again in about 2 weeks. I have an unconfirmed surgical date of 9/16. Which will hopefully be confirmed on Monday. I have learned from experience that I will have to keep on the staff at my surgeons office. They have dropped the ball in the past. When this is over I am going to have a chat with my surgeon about his office staff and their reflection on him. I have to hope that he is unaware of the way they are doing their jobs. All I can say is as nurse, this is no way to treat your patients. Sorry for the rant I just had to get that off my chest. I vow to be positive from now on!!

So bottom line is it cheaper to go online or to say a big box store?

Hello Everyone, I guess I will be joining your group, My surgery was suppose to be in 4 days but it has been postponed. My surgeon wants me to be off my Ibuprofen for a month before surgery. What I don't get is why didn't he tell me this when I was in his office a month ago. Why wait till 4 days before surgery to tell me this. I'm really bummed.
