  1. Hi everyone. Haven't been on in awhile but, I want to: 1. Be more social and go out with friends. 2. Actually buy some really pretty clothes that isn't purchased from Catherines or Jessica London. 3. I actually accomplished this back in May, but I would like to continue to fly on an airplane without asking for an extender. 4. Try skiing again. Good luck everyone with all the things you would like to do!!!
  2. I was banded in March and my shoe size has dropped one size down.
  3. I would also like to add Maalox to the list of suggestions. Make sure that it has simethicone listed in the ingredients.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Thanks I needed that advice also Fenton on exercise. Moving from no exercise to 2-3 times a week. It has been very difficult to exercise due to a knee injury last year. I fell and tore basically everything in my knee. I have lost about 48lbs. since surgery on 3/6/08, but I see after reading other posts, I am behind.

    Mississippi Bandsters!

Dr. Byars did my surgery and he does a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and a 2 week post-op diet. I was banded on 3/6/08. However, I began to experience nausea all day after the first week post-op. My body was extremely hungry. He advised me to go ahead and try some mushies. I couldn't make it 2 weeks with nausea and hunger pain all day. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, creamed soups were some of the things he recommended. I also had some baked tilapia cooked very soft. I felt so much better once I had something to eat. He also said that the Slim-Fast (Optima) after 3 days, may also cause nausea. So be careful with this also if you experience nausea.

    Mississippi Bandsters!

Hi, I was banded in Oxford,MS on 3/6/08. Becky Wilson is the Weight Loss Center Office Manager. She was a very big help and gave me all the costs up front. I am a state employee and the health insurance doesn't pay anything for this type of procedure. In all I paid a total of $15,000 for the procedure. Becky can also help you apply for financing if your insurance doesn't pay through Regions Bank. I chose to go out on my own and found a medical company online that pays for any type of medical procedure. I paid the registration fee and they found a bank for me to finance with at a low interest rate. I was accepted and extended the line of credit I needed. They sent checks for me to write for each vist. The monthly payments are low enough for me to handle. I strongly reccommend you find an online medical company to finance this procedure, if you haven't already found financing. Good Luck!!!! Banded 3/6/08 Dr. Byars Oxford,MS Surgical Clinic of Oxford

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

My tummy is sore. The nurse in the hospital said that walking will help rid the soreness. It seems to be working by just walking throughout the house. I still can't bend over and pick up things.without some pain. I am so glad this is spring break week in Mississippi. I have the whole week off. Hopefully by next Monday I will be ready for school again. I already wish it was May and school was out. I cheated a little bit today, but it made me feel so good. I had a small bowl of Egg Drop Soup today. I didn't eat the chestnuts, onion, or eggs, that came inside of it though. I did drop only 2 fried wontons inside to become soggy. It was so good. I know I cheated but actually don't feel nausea and actually feel pretty good now. I do not plan on doing this again, I really want to follow my doctor's instructions I just thought I would treat myself and what a treat!!!!

    Where are you MS folks?

Hello all! I am from Oxford, MS. I was banded on 3/6/08. I am very frustrated with the liquid diet, but I am trying to think about the positive outcomes that will soon come. Have anyone had a hard time sleeping? My side is killing me at night. It seems to be getting a little better nightly though. My fear right now is my hair and I know that is not at all important, but it is too me. Called the nurse this moring and she said I could resume the Slim-Fast Optima. It makes me so full and miserable. I was recommended by another person at a seminar to try something called ungry Protein powder. Has any of you heard of this or know where it can be purchased? I have googled with no success. Dr. Walker Byars
