Hi! My doctor is Dr. Walker Byars in Oxford, MS. The total cost which includes: psychological evaluation, hospital, anethesia, etc was $15,500.00. Dr. Byars has a new office. I have been banded since March 6, 2008 and still have problems eating bread. I just can't do it. I seem to scare everyone around me when I become choke on the bread. So I have just decided not to eat it. Traveling this summer has been difficult because all the fast food places serve sandwiches. Most of the time I have to order a sandwich and eat whatever it has between, which can get a little messy if you're ordering through a drive-thru. I feel your pain and hope that it gets better.

Sharona, I have heartburn frequently and was just wondering if you have acid reflux. I have had acid reflux about 5 years and now after the surgery it seems worse.

Great idea Ajoneen! I went to lunch with a friend and she ordered a salad that came in a huge bowl. I ordered a small fruit cup. They brought the fruit cup out in a small 4oz. plastic bowl. She asked for a second bowl to share her salad. Once the second bowl arrived, she gave it to me to place my fruit cup inside.

I take an acid reducer also. Unfortunely, I had acid reflux before I had lapband surgery. After the surgery, it became worse. I take prevacid daily, in the morning, to help alleviate some of the acid problems. I don't get to post much, but I do read the entries also. Many of you seem to be doing extremely well. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi, I am from Oxford, MS 45 minutes away from Tupelo and was banded by Dr. Walker Byars at the Surgical Clinic of North Mississippi. He does fills also, if you can't find someone in Tupelo.

Welcome to the club. I am experiencing the clothing woes also. Yesterday I had on a pair of old pants before I had surgery. I was also babysitting at the time. The baby started to pull on the back of my pants and down they came a few inches before I could catch them.

Hi Ladies! Anyone using unjury for their Protein shake? I am lactose and have been using Soy Milk for over 3 years with everything. Now the soy milk has started to bother me. Any suggestions on something else to blend with this shake?

Anyone having pain around the navel? I was banded on March 6 and recently I began to hurt around the navel and I can also feel it in my back. I really don't have much gas, but I feel almost like I have a virus. I don't think it is a virus, because it comes and goes so much. Sometimes after I have felt this way for awhile it upsets my stomach and nausea kicks in. Help!
