  3. I had to have a port revision yesterday because my line was kinked going from the port to band. My band acted as a one way vaule effect. My doctor said there would be no down time but I am laying here and A LOT pain. Has anyone had this done? How long were you down? I am a teacher and would really like to be back at work on Monday. Do you thin that is going to be possible?

    I was in the same place as you and yes it is Bandster Hell!!! You just have to watch what you eat and try to control the portion amt. It does get better....I promise!!!!! Good luck!!!!
  5. Well I don't know if I should be saying this but......I can eat and drink at the same time. I don't usually do it but if I am out to eat with friends or whatever I usually order a drink, drink most of it before I eat, drink just a little while I eat and finish after I am finished eating. Now this might be 2 drinks or whatever.....I just don't drink a lot while I am eating. The problem with alcohol is the calories. Watch that and you should be ok. I have not tired beer so I can't speak on that. I found a vodka called 3 vodka and it doesn't have any carbs. I mix it with diet ocean spray carnberry juice so my calories are not to bad......Hope this helps a little!!!

    Stress and the band

    I went to the doctor and he said it is normal. Stress can affect the body in different ways.He said as long as I am getting back to normal then everything was fine. Thank you so much sharing your advice and stories!!!

    Thank you everyone for your repsonses. No I did not throw up or PB but I knew that I couldn't eat. A friend of mine works at the my doctors office and I am going to go in today just to make sure everything is ok. I thought I needed a fill but I am not so sure. I will talk to hime today. Again thank you for your help I don't know what I would do without this site sometimes!!!!
  10. I was in a very high stress situation this past weekend and COULD NOT eat. After about 2 bites I was done. Does stress effect the band to that extent? Today is the first day I have really been able to eat. I don't know if maybe I messed something up or it was just the stress. I could not even get soup down this weekend. Any insight you have would GREAT!!!!

    IMHO The hardest part of being banded.

    That is the harderst part for me as well....I just always get up and start moving right after i get finished so the time goes by faster. We have to keep swimming so our suits will look awesome this time next year!!!! Good luck...you CAN do this!!!!
  12. I had my first fill on my 6 week check up...I think that is usually procedure.
  13. I think we have all been there. You might want to give your nutri. a call and see what they say. It will get better. I have felt like that for a while now and can't wait until Tues for my first fill. When I feel like I am hungry and I know I shouldn't be I go and do something with a bottle of water in my hand. Lets put it like this I have never been a gardener....well my flower beds look so good right now!!! Hang in there I am sure it gets better!!!!!

    Returning to work!?!?

    I would give yourself a week if possible. Even though you are sitting most of your day you will possibly still be in pain. Hope this helps some!!! Good luck on journey!!!
