    Pulmonary CT scan

I hope everything goes ok...please keep us posted!!!!
  5. I went for pre op yesterday and everything went fine or so I thought. There was student doing my EKG alone but I didn't think to much of it. Now I have never had a EKG done but the placement of the leads seemed to be a little off but like I said I had never had one done. She placed a lead on each leg, 2 under each boob and one set on my chest, does that sound right? Anyways the hosp. called today and said that the EKG didn't come back good and I need to have another one done tomm. Can someone tell me if those are the places the leads go and should I worry about this? I don't have any health problems other then my weight. I am a little worried something could really be wrong and I won't be able to have the surgery on monday. If there is something wrong then I am glad to be finding out now but I just wonder if the student did something wrong. Any help would great if it is just to put my mind at ease.

    Ouch! Hurt feelings!

You should be VERY proud of yourself. Losing 50lbs is not easy for anyone to lose banded or not. Don't let negitive remarks get you down. Be happy and gloat in your glory....you are 50lbs lighter!!!!

  20. Does anyone know what the rule is as far as eating salads go? I have read in several places that raw veggies don't go down well. I will be so sad if I can't eat salad anymore. :blushing: I know things like celery are a no no but all of it???

  24. I have been reading a lot posts on here so I can get a sense of what to expect when I get banded (May 12th). I keep reading about people going a liquid diet before surgery. My doctor has not put me on that. The only thing he said was not to eat after 12 midnight. I know he is the doctor and knows best and I am not doubting his word I was just wondering why so many people have to have the liquids. Does it have to do with a fatty liver? Ok so did I just answer my own question??? Also what was the best thing for gas. I am trying to get somethings together well before surgery. I am sampling some protein drinks to see what I like best but would like to get all the things I need so I don't have to send my husband, he tends not to get what I ask for!!! ANY advice is welcome!!! Thank you so much!!!!

    united health care

I have united healthcare and they are covering the entire process but about $200.00. I do not have any underlying health conditions so I didn't know if I was going to get approved. I did have a BMI of over 40 so I didn't have to have any underlying health conditions to be considered. I did not have to do the 6 month diet before I was considered. The entire process took about a month. I will be banded on May 12th and can't wait. Hope this helps a little and good luck to you!!!!
