Thank you. Plan on taking the NCLEX state exam in PA where I live in February after finish up an online prep course (ATI) so pplan to pass first try, going to give it my best. I had talked to the nurse manager on the floor while I did my laps every 4 hrs after surgery. In my hospital when you when you reached 16 laps it equalled a mile -I was determined to reach it -did 18 before I got discharged. But while I lapped I knew things were going down hill with husband. He was suppose to stay with me overnight & not leave. He left twice once 2 hrs & later evening for three. He said he said he just left & got high on pot (cause women he was cheating on me with all smoked with him & I was against -didn't want to be with someone who used drugs as coping skill , especially when I was dealing with a lot more stress with surgery, school & job & coping as best code just depending on God to get me through it all. I truly think God showed me the full truth on him to help me through it now. I asked him later after filed for divorce if he went to have sex with the one that lived near the hospital but he never answered me so pretty sure he did. He cheated on me the full 4 yrs of marriage & working full time/nursing school pt on weekends/evenings program school had with 11-13 women (3 regulars) that I saw email hook ups with after hacked into acct he had. God blessed me & all my STD & Hepatitis test after found that out were clean & then he got me through nursing school. So I am praying I can get into bariatric floor & help & be an inspiration to others because nobody knows what it is like to be obese in their lives except us & give support to patients after surgery. I truly would love that. The nurse manager told me to email after pass nclex to shadow on floor so hope it will work out. Thank you. Hi Dknal2, Thank you so much & good to hear from a nurse. Yes school with working full time was hardest thing I ever did. I am really looking forward to what God has plans for me. I am so thankful I found out the truth also so can become stronger in every way. I am sorry to hear your husband is not supportive of you in your surgery. I hope he comes around to support you because this is all for the better for you & I feel he should want the best for you. You are strong also. I thank God every day & will continue for being there for me through all of this & friend from church said think God had me find out all the truth too because been easier moving on in right direction I feel God has me on now without him. It was crazy he had two lives. He went to church one weekend with me & next weekend when in clinicals he was cheating on me. I am getting ready now to head to church to praise God for so many blessings in life & you are right - glad had surgery before too. I feel wonderful now & really loving myself too inside & out. That is awesome to have confidence & you should. I think that was hardest week for me was week before surgery as far as food (had some personal issues that I posted about but dealing with them now cause I got on to post & saw yours). You are doing this for yourself, & good you have confidemce. I felt some too that week cause it is hard but you just have to keep your eye on the end goal & it is all about living a healthier life. Agree with inner surfer girl - b we st tip I know is to walk as much as possible. Prevents blood clots, also if ask you if want SCDs on legs in your hospital -also prevents blood clots. In nursing school so this is a preventative for any surgery. First time I had SCDs on my legs & I actually liked them -felt like leg nassage. Also don't wait til pain is too bad before take pain meds but I really didn't think pain was bad after surgery - kind of felt like just worked out my abs too much (was sore feeling).
