Mini gastric bypass in Belgium 20th April 2016

I think 10 days is the minimum, I thought I would be back the following week but I needed the 10 days, while there was no ( or very little) pain and uncomfortableness in the days following the operation, it is I suppose a big assault on your system so take your time. The only tip I can give is, when you think you are full, stop eating straight away, if you overdo it, it can get uncomfortable. I am very happy with the path I chose, honestly, there are times that I wish I could eat a whole bowl of tribeca chicken wings, but I have never felt disappointed when I leave half of them behind. -

Hi Cally, It's almost been 6 months since my operation, I can honestly say it is the best thing I ever did, I started at 132 kgs and I'm now 83 kgs, I won't lie to you, it's a bit of a learning curve but now I can almost eat a little of anything now, milk is still a bit of a problem though. Be prepared to spend a fortune on clothes, I've gone from 42 inch waist to 32. I have a little loose skin but no big deal. Best of luck -

Well done, actually I got back home yesterday and I'm feeling much better in actually lost 4.5kg since last Thursday and 11 since I started the pre-op regime. I have to say at this early stage everything appears to be on track but I can't wait to actually eat again, the liquid part is great for the numbers though -

Got my MGB yesterday in Belgium with Dr Chris, more than a little bit sore but now that it's done, looking forward to getting on with it. -

Well done, 38lbs in 'old money' , that's like not having to carry your check-in luggage everywhere. My wife has not exactly bought into the concept and is quite nervous but I think d-day will never come. -

Thanks Edelc and Hi Dlae, did you also get your MGB in Belgium with Chris de Bruyne ? the 20/20/20 rule will be a massive change for me its normally a bag of twenties followed by 1 chew and the swallow is taking place while I take the next bite. No wonder I'm in trouble. -

Hi Edelc, I am from Dublin and I will be getting the MGB in September with Chris de Bruyne, I am a fast eater and I am trying to practice slowing down before the surgery. How is the hunger after the operation ? and in the weeks after ? KR Jackie
