Anyone use Amerigroup?
dede_mont replied to Brenda Sherwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use amerigroup and got approved in only a few days. I had to get letters from all my docs. Back surgeon, pain management doc, pcp, neurologic doc, shrink. If you have any of those get them to write letters saying they believe you need the surgery. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App -

@@stsch06 I am 6 weeks out from my vgs and to be honest the first month i wanted to die. I was so mad at myself for doing what i did to my body. Regret was high and i was miserable. The swelling started to go down and i was able to drink liquids easier at 5 weeks and today i can get 75oz of Water down a day with little issue other then plan water sucks. Once my body started to really heal and i stopped trying to do things according to the book i am able to get my liquids, most of my Protein and Vitamins in much easier. The beginning is hard, is a shock to your body and mind. You prep for the surgery and do the diets and think you're ready but after isn't what you thought it would be. Buuut it truely gets better. At least this is my experience. Good luck Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

It's 0430 and im back in the ER. Ive been here for the last 12+ hours or so. Found out im allergic to some of the meds i have been taking and that is why I've been in and out of the er. Tonight i went into anaphylaxis shock. How the hell are we supposed to trust our damn doctors when you go to the er and they feed you a bunch of guesses and the one day its almost to last.

I dont mean to sound like im blaming the er docs. They have been great. Im more just upset that i ended up back in the er and came close to a negative outcome. This is only the second pill from these meds that i have taken, the first was last week when i ended jp in the er but i was also having other issues with dehydration and something else. So the allergic reaction was mild in that case. Yesterday i started back on them and just collapsed. By the time the emts arived my bp was really low and i was in anfalactic shock. The med is Nitrofurantoin 100 mg. It is an antibiotic. I have seen an allergist and know what my food allergies are as well as pollen, animals and molds. Im not so much angry as i was scared. Any ideas on dealing with stress? I finally have my daughter home from college for this week. She got here yesterday and dropped a huge bomb on us last night and since then I've been craving foods and stress stalking the fridge. I have NOT consumed anything beyond my Water, Soup and Protein drink but the feelings and cravings are bad tonight. This is my first test in my control. I know I'm not hungry and it's just stress or trying to process what she told me. Affraid of falling back into bad habits and messing up. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

Hello all.. I'm still in my puree stage and have plans to go out to dinner with my family while thwy are in town. I fully plan on taking my own eats but am worried it will make others feel uncomfortable if I do and I dont want to deal with a fight should i take food into a restaurant. Does anyone have any suggestions on eating out while on this stage? I don't know where they want to go to yet but i have a feeling it will be a buffet as we live in las vegas and that is where it's cheapest to eat. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

First i should say I've been married to my husband for over 24yrs. That being said, Im only about 6 weeks out, but i have noticed my husband is more thoughtful about food handling. Before i cooked, served, put away and cleaned up after, now he is more involved in his meal dealings so i dont have to deal with it all, cuts down on my exposure to things i dont want to be around. He is also more involved in what i comsume and how im feeling after. I havent noticed to many changes between us as of yet. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

Ok.. I have to ask does anyone mix their liquid Vitamins with mustard? My last support group the guest speaker mentioned it helped with taking zinc and d vitamins. I havent been taking my zinc because its so bad but i have to take it. I do my Multivitamins but my liquid ones not so much. Honestly.. Does anyone do this? Im clear for using mustard but mixing it with zinc is crazy sounding. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

I am about the same time frame you are. I had my VGS on July 14th. I am also tired when i eat/drink full liquids and pureed foods. I just laid down for 30 minutes after i had Soup. Our stomachs dont move like they used to and it takes alot of energy to move things threw. At least that is what my pcp said, plus there are hormone changes happening and healing. Congrats on you surgery and from what my sister sais (she had vgs 5 yrs ago) this will only last as long as its needed. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App

Nicotine Testing
dede_mont replied to TheStarvingMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine did bloodwork.. I googled to see how long it takes to get nicotine out it only takes 3 to 4 days. But there is another chimical in cigarettes that takes 10 -15 days to get out of your system. Drink lots of Water to flush your system Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App -
@ Dub.. ROTFLMAO.. Score.. Stick to your story with HR.. And if asshat boy keeps it up report his ass for harassment. What you do and eat is none of his damn business. Tonight I dared pureed chicken with a little salt and pepper mixed in. I measured out my 2oz and took forever to eat what i could. I didnt finish it feeling full and for some reason broke out in a sweat. I have been on the slow end of trying foods. I stayed on Clear liquids longer then needed and have been taking baby steps with full liquids and pureed foods. I even bought baby foods to help me force myself into real food. I am as most of you having issues with the Protein dinks so i thought at least getting some pureed chicken in might help. Has anyone else had issues with breaking into sweats while on this stage? Do i need to back off and continue on with babyfood? I admit today has been my daring day with foods and liquids, maybe it was just to much. Sent from my LG-H343 using the BariatricPal App
