Hi my name is Birdie and I have been over weight most of my adult life. As I have aged and life dealt me different situations like surgeries, different jobs where there was not much exercise eating out drinking and just poor eating, I have an addiction for chips of almost every kind plus it doesn't help when you like food like I do, I enjoy cooking I am although thankful I was never into sweets I am sure if I was I would be much heavier then what I am.
Because of my weight I am now diabetic with high blood pressure and my cholesterol was also very high I am hoping with my next blood work up that I will be taken off some of my medications but have been guaranteed that after surgery I should be able to come off of all of them I already see my levels dropping.
I started in May with my dietitian and RN, and my head doctor I had met my surgeon and he did my stomach scope I have had a total of 7 visits with the dietitian and 4 with the RNs preparing me for my journey, they have all stated to me how proud they are of me I lost 40lbs since starting the program thus far now on liquid protein they suspect I will lose up to 10 more lbs by the time of my surgery.
My doctor had me in her office one morning and was talking to me about my health and explained that most of what was wrong with me was weight related and asked me what I thought about or ever considered weight loss surgery I explained that I had thought about it and had researched it at some point but was concerned that my insurance would not pay, she explained that because of the problems I was experiencing that I was a good candidate for the surgery and that is where it started she set the ball rolling and here I am today.
My surgery is set for Dec. 22nd, 2016 my HW 372 lbs / SW ? lbs / CW 310 lbs
