I asked the same question to my surgeon as well. He's performed over 3000 with 6 deaths; three from heart attacks. I want my husband to come to one of the support groups with me and see if that would help ease some of his fears i guess. He wants me to wait a year, but i just cant each time i go back to the doctors i get scared that something else might be wrong with my health. I'm really to take charge of my life, he's just gotta fall in line lol My husband even went to a support group with me and asked all kinds of questions. But will not change his habits with me but supports me otherwise!! There are lots of horror stories. That's why they do so much testing before surgery tho !!! Lots of luck!!! I'm so lucky my husband is by my side % he supports me for the RNY even tho he thought I shld go a different route told me it's my choice in the end. I find out my surgery date soon and he is even taking a week off to be with me. I hope everything gets better for all u all it makes me realize how lucky I am even when my husband is grouchy and drives me crazy. Remember this is about you now and ur health I always put everyone before me and I realized if I wanted to put them first in the future I had to put me first so I could be around. Good luck to all!!! Everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect just try to keep urself on tract from here I know it's hard but one thing you need to focus on and this is a story my NUT told me of that just a few months ago they were in the operation room a girl ate during her pre op diet and didn't tell them they almost lost her on the operating table and not only did it risk her life but I also puts the whole surgical team in jeopardy and the nurses. They just told me another story of someone who was smoking and lied about it and they ended up on the icu for three months and almost died so it's very important to listen for our sake and the drs and nurses sake. Great job for realizing ur mistake though and taking ownership!!! Keep trudging and know you get a big reward in the end!!! So I am looking to have this surgery and going through all my glasses required by my surgeon and so forth it's a total of a 6 month program I'm on my 4 th month but my main concern is I'm 270 lbs and so afraid of having loose skin and my insurance not covering skin surgery I'm interested in hearing from people who have had this surgery around my weight and if they had a bunch of loose skin at my classes they say bc I'm young yet 36( not that young lol) that it will still have a lot of elasticity I have had three kids and just don't wanna have a bunch of loose skin and stretch marks already have the stretch marks. Flavored Water also I make my own I soak whatever fruit I want in the water over night ton infuse it and it's not bad I haven't had my surgery yet but following the rules ahead so I can get use to them and amazingly down 20lbs already Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Lol yes I had c sections with all three of my kids and was the same way I got yelled at bc a few hrs after my delivery they found me in the shower I hope the best for you I can't wait for mine I have one more netting with the dr and there they schedule me to see the surgeon but I have completed my 6 months of classes and quit smoking 5 months ago and lost my weight goal and all just waiting for this part now can't wait thanks for sharing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
