I used to be a bartender and I know it's not preferred but I know of two people who had that surgery and drank soda and alcohol daily but I can also tell you that both of them are putting the weight they lost back on I haven't had my surgery yet but just by what I saw in them I wouldn't suggest it I quit soda 6 months ago and I crave it every day but know that I want to make this a long term goal and there is no sense going through all this just to eventually pile it back on the point is to start a new life and new ways. Best of luck and I hope that helps sway you to keeping up ur great work!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I sooo agree I have three kids who are autistic and I have to travel a half hr every 30 days per child so I make 6 round trips a month for prescriptions for kids at that all bc of drug addicts and pill abusers I think they need to punish those offenders and not everyone. I could go on and on about this subject. It's bad enough the money you pay for prescriptions let alone the gas you pay going back and forth for them. I could maybe even somewhat understand if the meds were pain meds but they are nothing but pills to help the moods with autistic children. It's an absolute shame. Last appointment with NUT NEXT IS WITH SURGEON!
genn posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So this is my story so far, almost 8 years ago I gave birth to my youngest child it was a very stressful and emotional and physically painful pregnancy. After birth I found myself the lightest I had weighed since 4 th grade I tried for years to keep it off but always fluxerating in weight. About five years ago my third child was diagnosed with severe ADHD. Already having my oldest who has autism and my middle child having ADHD and now my youngest with severe ADHD my husband and and I decided it was time for me to stay home and quit my job. So this is what I did. I went from constantly on the go to being at home and for the first few months I struggled of just not understanding I never smoked drank or did drugs why did I have three disabled kids?? This is something I still question often but just thankful I have them at the end of it all. Slowly tho over the last five years I have increasingly put weight on. Bc of my abusive childhood from my mother I vowel I would always be the best mom I could about 8 months ago I opened my eyes and realized in order to be a good mom I have to for one take care of me. Something I have never done. I have always put my kids first above everything. So in April I started my journey I quit smoking cold turkey just like I did during my pregnancy and have not looked back I will do anything it takes for a this surgery. I started at 283 I'm now at 270 and I go to finally meet the surgeon on October 25. !! I'm so excited and so ready for this journey!!! I started my classes back in April and it just seems like it's been forever. I'm so ready to start my life to a healthier happier me. I have suffered from so much depression due to me gaining weight and I'm ready to say good riddens to both and hello world and ready to start having fun with my husband and kids. This summer was really an eye opening for me I went to Hershey park with my kids and I was told I had to get off the ride sooo humiliating. Going to the beach and wearing clothes in the ocean bc I'm embarrassed to wear a swimsuit. Went hiking and kept having to stop and my family waiting for me bc I felt like I would pass out. I'm ready for my new start and nothing will come in my path. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Angry at Unsupportive SO! Get a backbone women and men!
genn replied to Pescador's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes. ladies, please don't do that! There are good men out there! My husband is absolutely amazing with support. Never left the hospital, even though my mom and dad offered him multiple breaks where they'd stay with me. Walked with me in the halls. Even turned on the heated seat before I got taken down to the car to help relax the pain. (On low, we are in NC where it's still hot as heck). I keep worrying about spending money. You all know this journey isn't cheap. We bought a new blender yesterday and I almost died, but he tells me over and over his top 2 priorities are my health and happiness. I am extremely extremely blessed. But my reason for sharing is there ARE men like this that are real. Don't settle for anything less. You deserve the best person who is out there for you. My Dad always said a marriage isn't 50/50. It's 100/100 and both people give 100% of what they have to give. He swears it's the secret to success. Anyway. Loopy, you are 110% correct. You have any amazing husband so far mine has been very supportive I haven't had my surgery tho yet I hope he continue to do the same as he is now. I have never been hospitalized or bed ridden I have always taken care of the kids and the house so I'm curious to see how he steps up to the plate when needed to lol. I kinda hope them he sees my job is not always so easy also. LOL Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
