    Major (Re-) lifestyle change

Thanks for your post. There are many layers to vegetarianism. I've done it for many years and have never had a protein deficiency. As the previous person stated there is protein in Beans, vegetables, dairy etc... I will be what is considered a "lacto-tarian" which means that I consume all dairy only excluding meats. Protein shakes are also a great source to meet protein needs as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  4. Congratulations! You've only gained 15-20 pds. Have you considered going back to the pre-op diet for a while? Perhaps that will help. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Can use some recipe advice

Nope you can leave the skin & seeds in as they are both edible. If you use spaghetti squash as an alternative for Pasta then you would need to take the seeds out (cut it open, scoop the seeds, bake it for about 30-40 mins at 350 degrees, comb the "spaghetti" into a large bowl & viola) for cucumber & zucchini it's perfectly fine to keep everything intact. Can use some recipe advice

The egg itself could've been a replacement for bread. Zucchini, cucumbers work as well for both sandwiches and pastas. "A moment on the lips can be a lifetime on the hips"... Please watch the carbs! Research alternatives for breads and Pasta. Well Wishes! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I agree with the responses above! Please go through with the surgery again, your health depends on it. Start changing your routine, include diet and exercise. A plus for you is... The more weight you have, the more pounds you shed early on. A 4-5 fifteen minute walks will head you down on the scale for sure! Most of us can relate to the emotional eating (at least I can) so I understand that struggle. Lastly you have a huge team behind you (all of us) rooting for you! Keep posting, keep sharing. I'm sure someone will always be available to help you through! If you haven't done so already... I encourage you to read The Power of Habit! It's a powerful book that breaks down habit formation & how to overcome the negative ones and replace with positive habits. Best of wishes to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hiccups!

I think I drank it too fast or maybe it was a combination of being to much as well. Anyhow, it's a great restrictive mechanism. I surely learned my lesson! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How to quit sugar ?!?!?!?

Was it tough cutting out the carbs? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Not when I simply stopped 'em altogether. Eating meats and small amounts of cheese during my meals kept me from being hungry in between meals.....this was during the time pre-op that led me up to my last two weeks before surgery. Cool. How far along are you on your journey? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling Hungry!

Thank you for responding. What is the PPI? Is that the acid reflux medication? If so yes, I take it every morning. Although I was thinking of moving it to afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How to quit sugar ?!?!?!?

I'm in the same boat! Sweets are (were) my life! And anything that would turn into sugar in my body like bread, Pasta, etc... My advice. Take out all sweets that you maybe holding hostage & give them away to friends or family (if opened) and the others you can give them away on sites like Free Cycle or Craigslist. Tell yourself this... "I can look twice as good as those Kit Kats (or whatever it is) taste if I don't eat them." It takes 21 days to break a habit. Another thing that helped me was creating a shopping list before I went to the grocery store. I would ONLY purchase what I have on the paper. Eliminate the middle aisles... They are the DEVIL! Everything that you need are on the outskirts of the market. Notice veggies, fruits & meat are always on the far end & yogurts, almond milk etc are on the other end. Everything in middle is hogwash... Junk and poison for the body. Try to avoids those aisles as much as you can. Eat more fruit! I hope this helps! Best wishes!! 30-40 percent regain

This is a lifestyle change for all of us. The goal is to lose weight so that we can be more active, have more energy etc... That includes also choosing better foods. If you look at it as a life change and take care of your body then you will be fine... We will all be fine. Besides what's the point of losing the weight just to go back to the same habits that got us all here in the first place right? Good luck to us all. May we all do better and appreciate the hard work & our new hot bods! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any 7/14's- post op?

One of the best things I had early post-op to help me sleep was this stretchy wrap that I would put around my abdomen and Velcro it tight. It supported my stomach and allowed me to sleep on my sides. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Really? Thanks for sharing! I'll look into that. Any 7/14's- post op?

Have you tried Isopure's Protein Drink? It's thin like juice. One bottle has 40 grams of protein, if you can manage 2 bottles per day you'd meet your protein requirement and most of you Fluid req as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any 7/14's- post op?

I'm having a difficult time w/ Protein. I'm never hungry. Trying to do better with staying on top of things. Fluid is so important... Maybe a timer would help? Wouldn't hurt to try. Perhaps set it for every 5 mins as a reminder to hydrate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I know it's breaking up with someone you love but probably not the best relationship anyway. In the end it'll all be worth it as the numbers keep decreasing lol. Yes... everyone lets all keep in touch and keep one another motivated Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
