I actually had the sleeve done because of the weight I gained due to breaking my L5 vertebra in half (and all the surgeries that followed). I've suffered from excruciating back pain for over ten years now and have noticed that I'm getting many more muscle spasms since the surgery. I log roll out of bed as usual, but still the pain has increased. I'm not sure why it has happened. I've mentioned it to my ortho and she states that my spine is stable (even though she didn't order any new images and is going off a year and a half old MRI). I'm fed up with her as it is, so I'm switching back to a neuro. I was told that the weight loss would help my back, but it's done the opposite. It sucks because I'm already disabled, due to my spine injury, and can't do much. My life changed drastically after my injury. I used to be so active. Now all I do is sit around the house all day. Boring! Good luck with your back pain. I've been taking my anti-spasm medications; maybe a muscle relaxer will work for you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

2 Weeks Post-Op 20 Pounds Down
mnicci1 replied to GetBack_095's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't over do it. I went shopping just five days after surgery and became light headed and dizzy due to doing too much too soon. I should know better, being that I've now had 17 surgeries. Take it slow. I just started going to the gym, 2-3 times a week, last week and I'm 4 weeks out. Let your body heal before you try to push it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
If you're already home, then you're fine to shower. Just don't scrub your incisions with a towel or puff. You can gently rub soap over your belly with your hand and then rinse it off as normal. You just don't want to risk opening any of the incisions. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I noticed that the Crystal Light drinks helped with my sweet tooth. The nutritionalist suggested them. They also help you get the amount of Water you need. I suggest the type you squirt into your water, then you can add a little more flavor and make it sweeter, if that's what you're looking for. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Lotion with Vit. E AND Keratin?
mnicci1 replied to magoosmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make my own lotions, soaps, and other skin care products. I own a little company and sell at show and etsy. If you can't find anything at all contact me and I can make you some lotion and body butter with both products. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Surgical glue to close incisions?
mnicci1 replied to nakole73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor used the surgical glue and I was allergic to it. After the glue fell off it itched horribly, and I developed red bumps around all my incisions. I had to by anti-itch cream. It went away after a week. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
