I am so boring, about time I shake things up and do something fun. Count me in! -
Hello, THis morning I was standing in the mirror and realized the roll of fat that used to be present was gone and now I have one smooth waist line. It's still thick but at least it is smooth. I am so happy. I am on my way to the gym. I can't get dressed fast enough. I am so motivated!

Wouldn't it be unethical for a US Doctor to sale expired medical supplies to anyone? Also, my doctor gave me the box the lapband came in and the label state: Not returnable for Credit Once Seal Is Broken. So, if a US doctor can get a credit on expired merchandise, why then woul they send it out of country? It's funny how some US doctors try to discredit Mexico doctors despite the fact the Mexican doctors have been performing the procdure for 10+ years and train the US doctors.

I just added too.

Has anyone lost weight but not pant sizes?
ljones4521 replied to bandtastic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pull out the measuring tape. I too was frustrated until I realized I was losing inches. -
Seppi, ROFLMAO! Great work! Congratulations.

How do you know if you are losing fat vs. muscle? I just finished watching Jose Rodriguez (I think this is his name. I have his book but don't know where it is) talk about his 3 hr diet. I really liked the 3 hr. diet but ultimately decided on the band. At any rate it made me ask myself, how do people 'know'? Thanks Lisa Acuna, Mexico 12/12/05 225/210/135

Did anybody pass on getting 1st fill??
ljones4521 replied to Iziksmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No fill for me. I was banded December 12, 2005. My weight loss has been slow but that is probably because I was drinking Starbuck's coffee. Then after the Starbucks I think I dropped my caloric intake too low for my body. I don't plan to get one becasue of a number reasons: 1. Money 2. Scared of complications and then have to return to the doctor and pay more money. 3. Scared of too much restriction and then have to remove my band. 4. Scared of too much restriciton and then have erostion 5. Heck, just plain ol'e scared! 6. Self pay - so if there are any complications there isn't any money lef. -
Ok...it's me talking to me again. Let's see where do I start? I think I have missed a couple of days. The good thing is that time was well spent and I didn't do anything I would regret like snacking. Yesterday I went to the gym with Steven and really must admit I had a gooood work out. I keep forgetting to take my pen & pad with me so I can write down the exercies I do. I will try to do it from memory or at least what is left of my memory. Here goes: 45 minutes - treadmill - 11 - 15 incline (would vary depending how I felt) hip abductor (outside muscles) 3sets of 10 at 25lbs hib abductor (inside muscles) 3 sets of 10 at 25lbs squats (sitting in machine) 3 sets of 10 at 90lbs, 1 set of 10 at 75lbs squats (pushing wiht feet, still sitting) 3 sets of 10 at 90lbs biceps curls 3 sets of 10 at 20lbs abs (turn to left) 3sof10 @25lbs abs (turn to right) 3sof10 @20lbs abs(crunch) 3sof10 @40lbs 3 flights of stairs on stairclimber 10 minutes - steam room --- *** I will never pass up the steam room again. I woke this morning without any pain, soreness etc. I have never gone to the gym, worked out and wasn't very sore the next morning. I HATE being sore. In fact this is the main reason why I didn't work out. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I got on the scale and saw it finally moved. I have been a bit concerned as I had not bee losing any weight. I guess now that am working out I should improved results. Ate 3 hard boiled eggs before working out and 1 chicken patty breast afterwards. Drank all of my water without any problems. Had a little fruit. Than'ts all I can remember. Oh, yea I am 5 lbs to onderland!! Cool beans, huh? When I hit 175 I will be able to see my goal in sight. Of course I am preparing for the reality that the scale might never again read 128 becuase hopefully I will gain muscle. So, instead maybe I should go into The Boutique (my closet) and grap an old pair of jeans I'd like to get into. I'll talk to me later.

....???ummm....closet? What is that? I think that is what I affectionately refer to as "The Boutique". I have clothes ranging from size 8 all the way to 18. I hope to find a couple of needy women to donate the clothes to, as I hope to shut down the "Boutique" by years end. Will only carry one size.

Yesterday I experienced two wonderful NSVs. My oldest son of 10 years is a few pounds overweight (15). He was offered a package of donuts and he only ate 2 then offered the remainder to his brother. The second came last night at dinner. Now, keep in mind ever since I have been banded the portion sizes have shrunk for all family members. It is impossible to convince me they can eat a lot of food. Any way I prepared a very small plate for him and before he was finished he announced he was full. I was absolutely shocked. His younger brother (9) typically announces he is full and absolutely refuses to put another morsel in his mouth. He has no wieght issues. But my oldest has a different body structure. Very thick and solid. He typically eats far more than my youngest. Well, last night he ate about the same as his younger brother. He had one drumstick, a tablespoon of rice.

Today I had a Body Age Assessment done at my gym. The report indicates the following: 61.3% lean 38.7% fat fat mass - 82lbs* Lean Body Mass - 131.2 * Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) of 1858 calories/day 557 calories burned by processing food and normal daily activities Conclusion: Daily Caloric Intake 2037!Daily Meals 3 Daily Snacks 2 My confusion lies with the number of calories they have recommended I eat. Isn't that a lot? Why wouldn't they recommend I take in less calories? Aren't we supposed to take in less calories to lose weight? I think my calories are coming right at about 1300 calories. Perhaps this is why my weight loss has stalled? Who knows? What do I do? How many calories do you guys recommend I take in? * The fat mass they came up with is the same amount of weight I want to lose. I wonder if this means when I lose the weight will I have a nice lean muscular body underneath :scared: Thanks in advance for you help. Lisa

The gym offers a free consultation with a Nutritionist. I plan to make an appointment. I'll share with you what she says. Maybe it will help. I really don't understand why my nutritional goal woud be 2037 calories, but that is clearly what the report states. Confusing, huh?

Just want to say that half of the battle is being able to admit to ourselves the truth. Granted you haven't been eating ideally, but hey, you are human, right? . YOu are not alone in your weakness. I too slipped a little today. I ate 1/2 a Mr. Goodbar. I was so thankful that I voluntarily stopped 1/2 and not my standard 2 bars at a time.

Went to the gym today and actually walked away feeling really, dare I say it, good. I walked 2 miles (45 minutes), kept the incline at 10 for most of it and for about a total of 15 minutes walked at a 15 incline. Did about 4 steps on this machine where you step up and do curls at the same time. I am not coordinated well enough to do two things at one time, so I stopped and moved to the shoulder press. Did 3 sets of 10 shoulder presses. I think it was 15lb or 25lbs. Leg extenders (works on quads). Did 3 sets of 10 at 55lbs. *This exercise machine is the one where you are lifting your legs or something. Calf -- did 3 sets of 10 of these. You sort of bend your knees, extend and then press the paddle thing with your feet. Hip extender - Did 3 sets of 10 25lbs. These I can feel. A little sore. The next machine worked the back of my thighs and buttocks. Did 3 sets of 10 at 55ls. After all of that I went and took a shower, washed hair and then sat in the aromatic steam room. This was rally nice. Food for the day ---- Breakfast - Jasmine Dragon tea Lunch - 1 walnut crusted chicken breast (thin & flat like smothered fried steak), spinach (a couple of leaves) Dinner - 2 over easy eggs Snack - EAS Chocolate Fudge Protein drink Water - 50oz or so 1/2 of Mr. Goodbar 1oz of VIBE

Just banded and here's what's happening
ljones4521 replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sunta, I too had really bad gas pains, but it does pass. I did an awful lot of walking and I firmly believe this helped as I did 'lose' it at time :-). Is the Tylenol in pill form? I was advised by my doctor not to take pills as they could very get stuck and really hurt. I took my pain meds in liquid form. Also, I too only did Clear Liquids in very small sips. Hope you feel better. -
Happy Anniversary! You are looking fabulous! I am not sure about others but these before and after pictures get me all emotional and teary eyed. I have never been happier for folks I have never met. Hugs
