They absolutely should! Just need the doc to use diagnosis code other than morbid obesity.

Those with approved insurance, how much did your surgeon/hospital charge insurance?
bari_nurse replied to trekker954's topic in Insurance & Financing
That is the "discount" they give self pay pts. They know insurance will pay more so they charge more. It's not right but that's the way it is. Luckily you won't have to pay that $27,500. They will most likely write off the remaining $10k. -
Shouldn't be an issue! They look at compliance. So if you are sticking with diet and exercise or not.

I would think the coding was wrong too! Home sleep study should slide right through based on obesity alone! Check on that with MD office. Have them add anything that will help (daytime sleepiness, snoring, fatigue)
-
They usually have to give a "dummy date" for the insurance. That can be changed.

Informed Decision, How do you determine the best Medical Tourism Group?
bari_nurse replied to 2Bbigloser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is not wise to have surgery outside the US. What standards do they follow for safe outcomes? They don't, because everyone goes back home and they don't have to deal with it. Have it here, buy insurance on the procedure (BLIS) and stay safe. Also: follow up with a good team helps the wt loss. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
