I am 9 days out too. I've just been walking my dogs around the block so you doing more than me so far! I am feeling much stronger than 2 days ago. I told my husband I think they replaced by blood with a90 year olds!
-
I'm not hungry at all but I am a bit bored with this liquid diet. On Tuesday I can introduce puried food and I can't wait for some variety! Honestly I have had zero problems so far, speedy recovery, no pain, no nausea. I think it helped that I started walking daily 3 weeks before surgery. So keep up your walking, it's going to help you in recovery.

I didnt lose too much before but have lost 8 lbs in 9 days so far since surgery. I've read that once you see the results you are highly motivated, I can see that may be true. My jeans fit better and my face looks better. My suggestion is to find someone you can buddy up with. I have a coworker who also had surgery 6 months ago and I feel if she can do it I can too. We will definitely be helping each other stay on track. Good luck on your journey!

Cajun boy are you in Louisiana? Can I get a geaux tigers? Congrats! I had a very easy recovery as well. On day 9 and just returned to work! No issues at all.

People are starting to say stuff
KCBO replied to ryan_86's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No one at my work knows either but I'm wondering how they will react. I've only lostb25 so far so no one has commented. Sometimes comments like that are based in jealousy. I know I was jealous of any woman who looked better than me. Not nice feelings but I'm being honest. -
I'm not there yet but 26 pounds is nothing to dismiss! That's a big accomplishment. I'm sure others with more experience will have more suggestions but I would say stay the course! Good luck!

My husband is questioning my decision
KCBO replied to Dawn E Dorsey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with everyone. I am new, only 9 days post op but have been on a restrictive diet for 3 weeks now(2before and 1afterso far) but I have a coworker who is 6 months out and she eats almost anything she wants with smaller portions And control. She describes it as eating like a naturally skinny person would, eat mostly good choices with a treat ever now and then. In my family we have me, a wrestler ( who always has to watch his weight), a football player ( d.lineman who always wants to eat more!) and my husband who is a triathlete (can eat anything he wants!). Our dinners are made enough with a variation for each of us. Its not that hard, two of us don't eat the carbs and two of us do (based on before I went on all liquids). Plus, your husband will love the physical changes in you! I already fell better about myself and it shows! Best of luck to you, I wouldn't let anyone change your mind. Do what is right for you. -
I have the restriction nothing over 10 lbs. for six weeks. I have had a speedy recover with almost no pain. I attribute this to the fact that I took my pain meds for as long as necessary and I started diligently walking every day for 3 weeks before surgery. Who knows, maybe I was lucky too. Far less painful to me than a c section. I am back to work today on day 9 at a desk job. Best of luck to you! I do not regret this, not easy but worth my health.

Ideas for the constant bad taste in my mouth
KCBO replied to ECO_Sleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think buffleheads is correct. I have the same thing. Good news it means you are burning fat, bad news not much you can do. I just make sure I'm drinking a lot of fluids. I also read somewhere else to bath with dr. bronnErs peppermint soap. It was also coming though my skin when I perspire. So gross but hoping it is temporary! I'm right there with you! -
Sleeved 11/25 - My immediate post-op goals - What are yours?
KCBO replied to SusieSouth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your surgery. I am 7 days post op and my goals are to build stamina back by walking and to get in all Protein and viatmins. I'm am sooo bored of Protein shakes already, can't wait for something different. This surgery is a real test of patience and commitment. But to feel better, I am willing to do it. Best wishes to you in your recovery! -
Surgery scheduled for Nov. 22nd! Steps and timeline that it took for me to get here...
KCBO replied to creatingthenewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry to hear you are suffering. I too was 11/22. I had relatively no complications, no gas pain, no nausea, just soreness and lethargy. But they did find a polyp on my esophagus and I now have to get that biopsied so I will be going back under as well in a few days. Not at all excited about that. The first few days I lost nothing because I was swollen, it is day 7 and now I've lost 5 pounds. I've had some moodiness and I'm in full ketosis which comes with its own issues but I'm still glad I did this. Best wishes to you in you recovery. Keep us posted. -
I did not have a catheter and was inpatient.

ISalithe, I hope you were not hurt. It did make me giggle though because that sounds like something I would do, especially on pain meds! -

I'm doing ok, pain meds are working but make me itchy. Rumbling in the tummy and very sore but manageable. I've had some unexpected crying, sometimes for no reason. Overall it's not too bad but then again this is only my first day at home. How about you? -
Jitters, in need of positive words
KCBO replied to Hazel_eyez's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just sleeved yesterday, and honestly got to say , I worked myself up way too much before hand. I cheated 3x on my preop diet-liver was fine. Was worried about pain- pain meds are working fine. Worried about gas pain-had none so far. That's not to say it's a walk in the park, but it's not as bad as I thought. I too am on the "smaller" side of obesity but I am tired all the time, have fibromyalgia and was pre- diatbetic. I started to hate myself and lost most of my friends because of it. I'd say that is reason enough to get healthy my whatever means available. Best wishes to you -

My surgery is also November 22. Just wondering how all of you are doing? Any nerves? I am unusually calm, though I'm sure I will be a ball of nerves the day of. Clear liquids only afternoon tomorrow, that's going to be rough. Probably should go to be early! -
That's a great suggestion! I also chopped up ice in the blender and put crystal light drops over it and pretended it was a snowball! Today I feel better. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am on day 7 of a 14 day liquid diet. 2 days ago I was crying, suffering from a head ache and over all miserable. I am quite sure like others have said I am dealing with food addiction and caffeine withdrawals. I can say I haven't caved yet but it is hella hard. Something that helped me today was a massive organization of my closet. It kept me busy and got me excited about wearing clothes I cannot fit right now. I organized into plastic bins by size so that after my surgery I can just ask hubby to pull down that container. It will be like Christmas! Tomorrow I plan on organizing some cabinets in my kitchen! I may be starving but my house is going to look great! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I felt ,feel shame. And remorse that I couldn't do this on my own, that I didn't take care of myself sooner. But at the same time, I am glad that I have realized that this is a problem I need help with. I don't want to die, get diabetes, heart disease etc. so if a little shame comes with the territory it worth it. Also, how bad is the shame of continuing to be overweight? I almost die every time I fly, sit in a stadium, even getting dressed. I guess it's no different than people who find it hard to ask for help with alcoholism, drugs because of shame. Although we shouldn't feel shame for asking and receiving help with a problem, I do understand how you feel. I say get your courage up and go for it, time to end the shame! . Marrisas*sleeve I'm getting sleeved in nov. 22. I am on my 5th day of liquid diet and am also struggling. I just finish crying because I am so miserable! Just thought I would reach out to you so you wouldn't think you were alone! I had a head ache for the first 4 days but now that's gone. I still feel dizzy and no energy.. I am very moody too. I refuse to cheat but man it is not easy. I licked a pickle the other day just for the flavor! I have spent the weekend at two high school sporting events for my kids and am going to an NFL game tomorrow...surrounded by food I can't have! It's tourture! This forum has been very helpful though, thank you to all who post.

Hi there! Another nov 22 here as well. Feeling nervous and excited. I haven't told family or friends yet so I'm not sure how I will navigate the Thanksgiving holiday. I would imagine I will be too tired to go. Anyone else in this boat?
