    You lied again lol

I've never been to a support group either. None close enough to me to warrant me going. But I'm doing well. Do you. Don't worry about her. And if you're worried about her negativity and stuff and you're not too close to her, don't worry about associating with her. Do you. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~
  2. I was told I could go back after 2 weeks but I had a complication so I'm going back after 3 weeks. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Sushi/sashimi?

I know I won't do rice but I think I'll definitely do sashimi when I'm ready to do a full solid diet. I miss raw fish. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Not losing :(

I don't know if I have unrealistic expectations or not, but I have only lost 15 lbs in the 3 weeks since my surgery and i'm kind of bummed. I really thought that I was going to lose more than that. Am I just expecting too much from my body or should I be concerned that the weight isn't coming off fast enough? I hear of others that have lost more than me and then there's me. What do you think?

    Not losing :(

Ok so I'm just expecting too much then. I need to adjust my mental framework and expectations. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

I need help keeping this secret!

I told about a dozen people and of course my mom blabbed to a couple of people I didn't ask her to tell but I'm over it. I won't tell anyone unless I'm really sure they won't attack me and talk crap. Otherwise, nope. I'm usually pretty free with info but this is a whole other ballgame for me. Whatever you're comfy with is what you should do. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Is my anger justified?

Sounds like the doctor is being negligent. I would be livid. If it were me, I would def get another doc and see if I can get some legal action going if it's warranted. That is definitely personal preference. But first and foremost, you deserve to have good, quality care. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

HELP PLEASE! 15 y/o post op!

Hey JT. I HATE protein drinks but my doc recommended one that I really kind of like. The brand name is Premier Protein and they are ready-made drinks in cardboard bottles. They have 4 flavors I think. I have the chocolate and vanilla ones. They have 30g of protein in them, which is awesome! Maybe you can try those if you haven't already done so. I had my bypass on Aug 4 and am still having problems with solid foods so i'm on these things now. Good luck!!
  10. I just was given antibiotics for an infection at the site where my drainage tube was in the hospital. Aside from packing my own incision a couple of times a day, I have to take antibiotics 4 times per day. They taste disgusting since I actually have to open the capsule and mix the powder with water (powder meds for 3 months!). I've tried to mask the taste with water additive Mio, natural cranberry juice (i thought that would for sure mask it since its so tart, but noooooooooooooo), with food, etc. I've gotten nowhere. Nothing will mask the horrible taste. All the doc tells me is to do what I've already tried. It's so bad it makes me want to be sick. Anyone have to have antibiotics and overcome this issue? If so, how?

    Has anyone had these issues

My goodness crissy79, I am sorry for your pain. We have a wonderful bariatric unit in MD called John's Hopkins Bayview medical center. Not sure where your located but it sounds like you need some good medical care. Best of luck for a speedy recovery. Prayers coming your way. Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App Las Vegas, Nv. I am planning a trip to California. I heard they have a good hospital there to. If a bypass doctor won't accept me. thank you. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using the BariatricPal App UCSF Dr. Jonathan Carter in San Francisco. He's an awesome Dr. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

drain site infection & NASTY antibiotics!

I was told by docs not to take any pills for 3 mos. Only to crush tablets and remove the capsule from the capsules. It's to prevent medication ulceration during recovery. I'm aware of the probiotics. So you use crystal light? Not sure if I can have crystal light. I'm allergic to aspartame. I'll have to check. Not much different from Mio though. Looks like I may not be able to get around this. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Calcium Citrate

i am having trouble taking in all of the required everything. i just ordered the multivitamin patches and the calcium/D3 patches. Hopefully they serve their purpose. From what I hear, they're great. Maybe that is a road you could consider.

When did you start doing poop?

I got nervous too because i keep getting constipated but the docs told me to take Milk of Magnesia and it did the trick. I am almost 2 weeks post and still aren't regular entirely. But thats something that you'll definitely want to ask the doc about.
  15. I am 11 days past surgery. Every time I eat, my stomach feels backed up. Almost like my food takes a really long time to go down. It hurts a little bit. Even if I eat just 3 or 4 bites, spaced out. It takes me so long to eat just a few bites of yogurt. Anyone else experience this? I don't remember anyone telling me that this would happen, but then I wasn't exactly fully coherent before I left the hospital. It's making me nervous. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Stomach feels "backed up"

Great thank you for the advice. I had no idea it took weeks for swelling to subside. Makes sense. But yeah it feels like a rock no matter how soft it is. I'm going to see him Wed morning so I'll ask to be checked. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Stomach feels "backed up"

I'm not constipated anymore. I finally got a hold of that. I could still be swollen. I don't know how long it takes for swelling to subside. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Stomach feels "backed up"

I'm seeing the doc on Wednesday for my postop. My bites are very small (about 1/3 of a teaspoon) and I eat slowly so I space them out in an attempt to remedy the stalled food (to no avail). Protein drinks don't go down too bad but still feel a bit stuck. But i cant get even close to the protein goal they want me at. Water doesn't hurt. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Has it hindered your weight loss? ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~
  19. Does anyone know if you can get the torani sugar free flavorings in small bottles instead of the huge bottles I'm finding at the store? I tried amazon and they only sell them by the big bottles as well but in a variety pack. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~
  20. LadyDarkness415

    Torani flavoring small bottles?

Unfortunately they don't have a walmart near me anymore. They took all of our nearest ones away. ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

Things that I'll be taking to hospital

I didnt bring so much, just what I was told would be necessary. Ibrought my cpap machine, med card and ID, cell phone and charger, and a light jacket. I wore home what I wore to hospital and everything I needed was supplied. I had to wear their nonslip socks and the gown. Was given plenty of warm blankets and other things. You will sleep much of the time. I didn't even go on facebook much. I just texted family and friends who knew and watched jeopardy a couple of times. I wanted to watch the Rio games but I had no energy for that. I was given heat packs, meds, and pretty much all that I really needed (even chamomile tea). I was even given a pillow to use in the car on the way home. It's now my car pillow when I go in the car (I'm 5 days past surgery). Best of luck on your surgery!!! ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    Trouble passing gas?

Hi. I'm 3 days past surgery. This may be TMI: Anyone else have trouble passing gas? I feel like my muscles below automatically tense up when it starts to come out so it never does. I need to get rid of it but I can't stop my muscles from tightening up. No matter how much i concentrate on relaxing my muscles, ive only let a couple of small ones out today (this is the first day ive had the urge to pass it. And yes im walking and moving around but now I'm getting some gas pains. Any suggestions? ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~

    2004 my life change ♡

Try changing up your exercise routine. Sometimes the body gets used to the exercise routine and needs a change to start burning fat again. Maybe that will help. Best of luck! ~~ LadyDarkness415 ~~
