@@Emuts, thank you. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one struggling with the lack positive support (for lack of a better phrase). Good luck to you as well! See you on the Loser's Bench! Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

I am so excited! I had to put the countdown on my phone in order to keep my anxiety under control. I wanted it to come sooner! My mother is indifferent to mt decision. I personally believe she would benefit from surgery as well. All she says when we talk about my upcoming surgery is that she likes her food too much. She could never made the sacrifices that I have made. My husband, on the other hand, keeps trying to get me to eat. He applauds my willpower, always asks why I am starving myself. He reslly hates that I am doing this but knows that he cannot stop me either. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

Gordita81 replied to Serenity141's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having RNY on the 26th. I started my preop diet on the 13th. It was difficult at first. I now understand head hunger. Now, 5 days in, I really don't get it anymore. Good luck to you all that are just starting it! See y'all on the Loser's Bench! Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App -
September Surgery...Lets do this
Gordita81 replied to etorres's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 4 of my 2 week liquid diet. It is getting easier. Only time I really struggle is when my family eats while I am home. I just go in another room. I work at Dunkin Donuts. I just keep busy and keep at bottle of Water with me and sip sip sip. Keeps me from picking at the Donuts. We got this! Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App -
I started my preop liquid diet today. But I have one big problem, I work with food. I had a shake at the start of my shift and have been sipping Water since. But looking at this food is definitely not helping. I don't know what to do! Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

Day 2 of the liquid diet down. I am struggling but I am making it. I didn't realize how much energy food actually gives you. Day 1 wasn't so bad, but by 6:30 pm today, I was ready to sleep. I stayed awake but I feel drained. Is this normal? Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

My preop appointment is Tuesday 9/13. This is when I will be given my surgery date. I have been excited since this has been such a long journey. Now I am started to get nervous. I am worried that something else is going to get in my way and delay me again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are no more issues. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

I am at the surgeon's office right now waiting for my surgery date. They told me that I may have messed up my surgery because I had put on 20 lbs over the past 17 months due to the fact that I gave up a long time ago. I thought this surgery was not gonna happen. Now I am scared that it really may not happen. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

I was also initially tested as part of my initial labs. My surgeon requires 2 months nicotine free so I quit in July (as soon as I found out my surgery was approved). I believe he will test again either day before or day of. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

This and Baritastic Social are my support groups. Because of my work and school hours, I don't have time to attend in-person support groups. Granted, she shouldn't lie but why are you worried? Not trying to be mean but everyone becomes successful in their own way. Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App

Ok, since I got medical approval, I know that I need to break some bad habits. One thing I can't seem to do is drink water! I have to add some sort of flavor to it. It's mostly tap Water that I can not stand at all. I can drink bottled water from time to time, but only if nothing else is quenching my thirst. Did anyone else deal with this? Any recommendations to help drink more water?

@@Marissa.Ann.C Thank you. I started this about 2 years ago as well. Got denied once. I am now just waiting for preop to be told my surgery date. As long as nothing else happens, I will be having surgery before the end of September. Good luck to you! I hope everything works out for you this time!

I have been fighting for 2 years to make it through this process and get scheduled for my RNY. Now, when I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel, I hit an obstacle. My surgery was approved prior to doing the testing. Everything was going great, preop scheduled for 8/25. Then I got a phone call today from the surgeons office, my preop has to be cancelled because I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. I have to be fitted for a CPAP before they can reschedule unless my doctor is willing to write a letter clearing me for surgery without the machine. Of course that is not happening. I just want to cry. Sent from my SM-G530T1 using the BariatricPal App
