My name is Patricia. I chose to get bariatric surgery because I am morbidly overweight. I have been diagnosed as prediabetic and have mild sleep apnea. Both of these will hopefully resolve themselves as I lose weight. I also have heel spurs (which has been contributed to my weight) and suffer severe depression which my therapist says not be so bad after I lose weight as well. This is my second attempt at surgery. First one was denied because I didn't have enough documented weightloss attempts. At this point, my surgery has been approved by medical and I am going through the remainder of my testing. EKG and Upper GI are done. I have done 2 home sleep studies but no in clinic studies this time. My preop appointment is August 25th. I am hoping to be told my surgery date at this appointment. I am scared and excited and can't wait for this to happen!
