  1. Does anyone have a trick to keep their bra from rubbing on their incision sites, especially while sitting? I have not been able to wear a bra for more than like a half hour since my surgery and that means I can't really go outside.... so I've been walking laps in the house. Also, I need to figure this out by Monday or I won't be able to go back to work, although I feel well enough to..... Help!!!:rolleyes2:
  2. I also was banded on the 25th. I am impressed that you went back to work yesterday. I was feeling pretty good actually until yesterday when I also kept getting really lightheaded.... A few times when I got up too fast I actually thought I might black out. That would have been awful at work. I attribute it to basically not eating for the past 10 days. I think drinking something like K20 or Propel are good since they have electrolytes. Also, maybe try some broth. The sodium may help a little. That's what I did last night and I seemed a little better then. Good Luck and don't push yourself too hard!!
  3. Thanks, Ladies.... YOU ROCK. So many great ideas. This site is great. I really appreciate all you support! Monday AM-- I venture to Lane Bryant and Walmart... And I'm surfing over to Rhona Shear as we speak to check those out. Muchos Gracias!!!

    How long on pain med??

Got my band on 2/25, and am hanging around the house fine without pain meds for the past day or so, but I CANNOT LAUGH. It kills me right around the port area/side:scared2:. It is the most painful thing I have experienced...... Can anyone tell me about when that pain goes away??

    Post-op diet and Work

Hi, I personally like the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control Shakes. They're 110kcal and have 17gm protein. They taste good (to me) and you can drink them either refridgerated or room-temp. Good Luck!
  7. Feeling better everyday. Today I am able to drink a little more and moving around is much easier. I only took Tylenol for a headache today, not even for my tummy pains! I think that's a big step. That means I can drive tomorrow if I want. I have very little energy though since I haven't really eaten in a week. But I still feel super-full. I'm in no hurry to advance my diet since I'm soooo full and everytime I drink anything it really hurts going down. I'm basically drinking to stay hydrated despite the discomfort.... When did you all start wanting to eat/drink after surgery? :smile2:

    Helppppppp Sick Sick Sick :(

So Hannah--- what's the word? Are you doing any better? What worked? What didn't? I hope you are doing OK and check back in soon!:confused2:
  9. I was banded yesterday, 2/25/08, and I think I am doing OK. Some pain around the port site (and side). Lots of belching. I've only had sips of clear liquids so far. I totally relate to the really full upper abdomen feeling.... all the time. I can't tell how much I should take in because I pretty much feel all full and gasey all the time. I'm just counting on time to make that a little less. My worst fear is nausea and vomiting, but so far I've had none of that!! I'm getting ready to see my kids (3years and 6 year old boys) for the first time since surgery..... I'm just praying they won't be too rough with me. They are used to hugging me and cuddling with me and sitting on me to watch TV and that is clearly not an option for awhile. Wish me luck!

For sure...... I would get in to see my MD ASAP!! You don't want to risk having the band slip or erode or have some other complication that could have serious long-term consequences. And it sounds like there's a good chance that it is because you're overfilled. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

This is a great site. Already got a lot of useful info from you all. I'm required to do liquid protein for 5 days prior to surgery. It's been 3 days and I'm down 7lbs already!! Having a lot of the same mixed emotions you've described. Looking forward to having an easier time running around and playing tennis carrying a lot less weight. Only planning to take one week off work..... Any thoughts on this?? My job is sedentary at a computer.... Thanks!:smile2:
