I eat at nicer restaurants all the time, and I've never been charged a spilt fee. It's a bit disingenuous to suggest that it's a matter of class. It might be a matter of restaurant culture in certain areas, but it's got nothing to do with the level of the restaurant. I'd be angry as well, though I'd just pay and never go back. My psych evaluation was beyond easy. My understanding is, if you have had psychological issues in the past, it can be much longer and more in depth. However, mine lasted 45 minutes. She asked how long I've been overweight. What I think the reasons for my obesity are. Ways I cope with stress. We talked about my weight loss goals and how realistic they are. We talked about my eating habits and patterns, and we talked about my support system. That was pretty much it. I had worked myself up over it, but it was painless. How many calories do you eat on average as post-op?
Vinasu replied to sasharbinx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nutrition is the most important consideration. However, if I don't count calories, I still overeat. Writing down everything keeps me from grazing. I'm certain I could eat an entire side of salmon one nibble at a time if I didn't use calorie counting for accountability. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
More looks and attention?
Vinasu replied to JonteRaynal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not a 10, but I definitely shot up several digits. I now have guys chatting me up all the time. I had a guy follow me through a grocery store and another ask me out while pumping gas. I'm 44 and spent most of my life fat, so this is pretty new. If I were on the market, I'd have no trouble meeting men now. I have been looking for a new job. I am a degreed professional, but looks still count for so much. I am in the interview stage with a major sportswear company. Over the phone, they made it clear they wanted to hire someone who "lived their lifestyle." Translation: they hire people who look fit, who physically represent their brand. I would not have made it past the first in-person interview 90 pounds ago. That's a fact. I feel great. Now, I'm not the biggest person in any room. I'm fact, I'm one of the smallest, which, ironically, makes me feel more visible. People don't avoid looking at me anymore. This surgery was one of the best things that had ever happened to me. Bypass had more long- term research done. I liked the fact that it was reversible, and that it had more weight loss overall. For me, taking Vitamins forever isn't a big deal, either for scheduling or financially, and I was otherwise very healthy, so a bit more time under anesthesia wasn't a real risk. I am very, very happy with my decision. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Change is scary, but staying morbidly obese is scarier. Had I done nothing, I am very certain I would be wheelchair bound by 50 and dead by 60. I do have loose skin. I wear Spanx and cover it up in the summer (I look great clothed! ). Without the weight, I feel amazing. I can chase my kids around, ski, go hiking, anything I want. What I'm most scared of now is ever regaining. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Or you're eating too fast. Of you're carefully measuring your food, try using a bite timer. The denser the Protein, the longer you'll need to eat it. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

For the Lady Sleevers (Bras)
Vinasu replied to dyemond11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm buying a new bra every month ????. But I'm just getting $10 Walmart underwires. They're not bad, and I don't feel guilty tossing them when I'm done. When I reach goal I'm going to treat myself to some great bras. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
My body continues to betray me....
Vinasu replied to DeletedMember's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I got the surgery after I tore my PCL. I couldn't walk at all for a month. The doctor said there wasn't anything they could do medically, and the only treatment was time and weight loss. Well, then I developed plantar fasciitis in my other leg. At 43 I couldn't walk down stairs. I had to sleep in the living room. I started worrying if I could even survive 20 more years. Now that I'm 90 pounds down, the plantar fasciitis had completely resolved, and though I still can't completely bend or straighten my leg with the PCL tear, the pain is almost gone. Shouldn't I feel more sick?
Vinasu replied to brennafaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never felt nausea until I was cleared for all foods. Then I discovered that ground beef, calamari, and raw carrots don't agree. However, I haven't been sick more than a half dozen times all together, and that was when I first started solids. You're fine. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
Thinking About Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Vinasu replied to MelissaRose24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I lost my first son, I put on 50 pounds in months. It was definitely adding insult to injury, making everything worse. The surgery has done miracles for me. I can now be so much more active in my surviving children's lives. It'll help you be the amazing mom you can be. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
For those of you who did not have "food funerals":
Vinasu replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never. I wanted to lose weight so much that the 35 pounds I dropped pre-surgery felt like a lifeline. By not having food funerals, by working really hard, I made my doctor's goal in four months. I don't feel deprived now, either. I eat anything I want...in moderation and within my calorie limits. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

Perfect pants for women after surgery!
Vinasu replied to TiredOfMyself's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I buy from Aliexpress. It's also China. I've gotten clothes I adore (including a bathing suit that covers all my skin folds) for great prices, but adult clothes are 2-3 sizes smaller than US sizes. I'm an 8 in US, but XL in China. I love the shoes there, and I get kids clothes there all the time. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

Anybody have problems at work when asking off for surgery?
Vinasu replied to meljoy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you qualify for FMLA, then they must give you leave. However, if you don't, if your company is too small or you haven't worked there a year, or you don't work enough hours, then they don't have to let you go. Outside FMLA and ADA, "An employer does not have to provide any accommodation that may be an undue hardship. Having you out of work for some period of time might constitute an undue hardship for the employer. That will depend a lot on the size of the employer, what job you do, and what options the employer has for covering your work while you are out. " Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

I went back to work the Monday after my Wednesday surgery, but I have a sedentary job. You can probably do it, but know that you will be exhausted for the first month, so make certain you've got someone to help with the household chores and any child care. You'll need to come home and rest. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Frustrated before surgery
Vinasu replied to lizzyskinny73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start recording every single thing you eat in MyFitnessPal.com. If it goes in your mouth, record it. Try to limit your calories. 1500 might be a good pre-op goal. The accountability that recording what I eat provides has been the most important factor in my weight loss, behind surgery. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
