    Regrets after surgery?

I'm so sorry that I deprived my children and my husband of the person I could be - mobile and not in pain. This!! You've managed to articulate the most important reason for my surgery. Now that I can be more present with them, I understand how much I was depriving them previously. We didn't go places. We didn't do things because Mommy didn't feel good, because Mommy couldn't keep up. If it were ever necessary, I'd have the surgery three times a year to keep being the wife and mother I want to be. Get a Munchkin formula dispenser. I keep one in my purse all the time. If necessary, I can get a cup of Water at any fast foods place and stir the powder in. It's not optimal, but it works in a pinch. http://www.target.com/p/munchkin-formula-dispenser/-/A-13991505?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Baby+Shopping&adgroup=SC_Baby_Top%20Performers&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=m&location=9032946&gclid=Cj0KEQiAqdLDBRDD-b2sv6-i6MsBEiQAkT3wAoheKMDOh1ZUEBJWqmoEPLuHXH74tdsQG_EzVuMk-uUaAiE98P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Is it true?

No. Not true at all. Where I had my surgery, fewer than 6%of patients had complications of any kind, and those that require hospitalizations are extremely rare. You've been outright lied to. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Net weight gain.

Usually a 2-3 pound variation is not an issue, but some surgeons (like mine) are real sticklers. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    BM

Don't strain. I gave myself hemorrhoids for the first time ever, and it was miserable. If it gets impacted, get an enema. It's gross, but not as bad as the alternative. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Does anyone regret surgery

How could I regret getting my life back? I'm down 92 pounds, from a size 22 to a size 6. I'm active, healthy, and my self esteem has shot up. I was in constant pain while fat. I couldn't keep up with my kids. Now, I'm the mom I wanted to be. We've gone skiing and ice skating and trampolining together. I also don't miss out on good food and good parties. I just eat less and drink less (which is fine because alcohol hits so much harder now). Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

  11. I use a sublingual tincture. My doctor said to avoid smoking for the same reason we need to avoid cigarettes. The tincture doesn't have the calories of edibles and begins to take effect in 20-ish minutes. I do indulge to relax occasionally, but mostly it is fantastic for aches and pains after a good workout. VSG and Piercings?

I have a chain threaded through some holes in the cartlidge of my ear and soldered into place. They had me remove my other piercings, but that one they just wrapped in tape. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Noticing.

The larger your starting size, the longer it takes to see a difference and to drop clothing sizes. You need to lose 40-50 pounds to go from a size 3x to a 2x. You need to lose 10-15 pounds to go from a size 8 to a 6. Believe me, once you hit Onderland, it'll become quite noticeable and the sizes will fly by. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  15. I had to have a cath after surgery because I couldn't pee at all. It's a common side effect of anesthesia. As long as you've got a trickle, though, you should be OK. If, though, your bladder feels painfully full and you can't pee it out fast enough, go to the ER. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Food didn't agree with me

Before surgery, I was intolerant to garlic. I could handle a little, but large quantities would make me sick. A couple of weeks ago I ate some salad my mother-in-law made consisting of beets and tons of garlic. I thought I was going to die. For two days I reeked of garlic. I blew up with garlic gas so badly I couldn't button my jeans. Everyone avoided the stinky, half- naked, vomiting, whining person. There is no moral to the story. I'm just letting you know because misery loves company. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I tried. Really I did. But to me, it tastes like feet smell. I'll need to get my nutrients elsewhere. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  20. That's great! Did you have any co-morbidities before surgery? Or, were you pretty much healthy, but bigger? I'm just wondering because many people tell me "I'm not that big", but I feel huge and everything hurts and I have obstructive sleep apnea.I was mostly healthy until September 2015. I was working out with a trainer three times a week and doing great. That September, I fell and tore my PCL. The pain was agonizing. I couldn't walk for weeks. The doctor said that they no longer operate unless the ligament is torn completely off, and the only treatment is strength training and weight loss. By Christmas, I had developed plantar fasciitis in my other leg. I had gone from being very fit to being a near invalid in three months. January I went to my first pre-op meeting. I did not have sleep apnea, hypertension, diabetes, or anything like that. So my operation was relatively safe and routine. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    More looks and attention?

I was joking a bit. Intel is the top employer in Hillsboro. Their campuses are Jones Farm, Hawthorne Farm, and Ronler Acres :-) I just got back from Hawthorne.....It's not so beautiful (across the street from Costco), but a new job would make up for it!
  22. I had RNY. I was in the hospital one night. I had no nausea, and I took no pain meds once leaving the hospital. I went back to work four days later. I'm 92 pounds lighter. I don't dump (though I kind of wish I did). I look and feel great. However, I also have no problems getting my Vitamins in, and I was otherwise very healthy so the extra time in surgery wasn't a big risk. I believe that the decision between sleeve and bypass is very personal, and shouldn't be made emotionally but rather based on your health, current weight, circumstances, and doctor's recommendations. More looks and attention?

Based on your previous posts and the above post I'm going to say that you want to work with a company located in Beaverton.Lol. Indeed. I have an interview in Beaverton set for next week. It would be fantastic to get it. Tomorrow I'm interviewing in Hillsboro...at one of the Farms. But they don't care so much about appearance. Too many engineers. Wish me luck! 24. I was surprised at how easy it was. I had no nausea, little pain, and was back to work in days. I thought I'd miss food more, but one or two bites is enough for most cravings. The most difficult thing for me was my family's reaction. They were very opposed to the surgery, and still won't discuss it at all. Cooking is hard. I taste constantly. So, we've rearranged family chores so I don't do it. I have last 92 pounds so far, surpassing my surgeon's goal, but still a few pounds out from mine. I look and feel great. Question?

. Can Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery be reversed? A. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery is considered a permanent weight-loss measure. However, it is potentially reversible. Reversal requires another operation of the same, or greater, magnitude with the same, or greater, risks. Reversal of this operation is very uncommon and rarely occurs beyond six weeks from the time of surgery. From the Cleveland Clinic Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
