Reward for meeting weight loss goal
Vinasu replied to Hazel_eyez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I buy shoes at milestones. I don't have anything big planned for goal weight, though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
Yes, but look at the macros. I like Lean Cuisine's Sweet Sriracha Beef (170 calories, 15 grams of Protein, 15 grams of carbs), but there are several other meals that are fine. Healthy Choice has some as well. Go to their Web site and research before shopping. Of course, an all-natural diet is the ideal, but the best diet is one we'll stay on, and I can take these to work with me. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Pre-op liquid diet misery and C-PAP machine crap
Vinasu replied to cls5186's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call a medical device rental place, local or online. Rent it yourself for the duration of your hospital stay and then return it. Around here they run about $75- $90 a month. It's a small price to pay for not pushing back your surgery. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
You need to get therapy for your food issues, or you're going to fail. I'm not saying this to be harsh. It's simply the truth. You can eat around any surgery. You shouldn't be trying to learn how to do it. Instead, try to learn how to not want to. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Crying on the bathroom floor
Vinasu replied to White Sale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll go two to three weeks without losing, even gaining a pound or two. Then it comes off. I'm down more than 94 pounds. Don't freak out. When you do that, you're more likely to turn back to food for comfort. Eat the plan and calm down. If you are truly following the plan, it will come off. When did your tastes change?
Vinasu replied to gonefromhere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My tastes didn't change much, but I like a lot more salt than I used to, and I like much spicier foods. I still love the sweets, though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
My nutritionist says to never eat more than 3 times a day to prevent grazing. They're all so different! Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I do 16/8 theoretically, but with my schedule it turns out to be more like 18/6. I've never been a Breakfast person, and now that I'm a bit father out, I feel like it helps me limit my calories. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Could I be stalling already?
Vinasu replied to livinglife61884's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. It's normal. Do a search for the "three week stall." Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
I had RNY on Wednesday. I worked from home Friday (just emails and housekeeping stuff), and I was back to work Monday. However, I have a sedentary job. Also, if you do go back that early, you'll likely not be in any shape to do anything else, so make sure you've got help with cooking, laundry, and all your other chores for a couple of weeks. I was back to work in three days, so no one ever asked if I had surgery. Everyone who knows me sees me eating very conservatively and working out regularly, and I'm losing about 8 pounds a month, so it's steady. If anyone ever asked, though, I'd tell them the truth. I'm going to try this as soon as I can get to the grocery store. But if I die, it's on you. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I didn't think I'd even had a surgery until I started solids...then it became very apparent. Just wait. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I literally just ask my 12-year-old daughter. "Mom, that's the wrong color for you. Mom, wear the other earrings. Mom, you need a scarf." I'll lend her to you, but be warned: she's as mouthy as she is helpful. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

I love Korean dried shredded squid. I get it from the Asian grocery store. It's sweet, spicy, filling, with no fat, low calories, and tons of Protein. I also love P3s. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

They have some really good 3-packs of Beans in the refrigerated section: refried, Latin, and red beans. They got me through purees. Also, when you're cleared for it, costco carries delicious tuna poke in season. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
