    Sonic and straws

Yes, I use straws daily, cleared by my Dr., and I've never found anything at Sonic I can have. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Is my Weightloss an track?

That's average or even slightly above. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Unwanted hair

My very curly hair has straightened! It's hormonal. I had straight hair until puberty, corkscrew curls until pregnancy #1, straight hair until pregnancy #2, and softer curls until WLS. Maybe it'll go curly again at menopause... Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  4. I think everything in moderation is fine after you're at goal. Before then, however, low carb, low calorie is the way to make your goal weight. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  5. That sucks. So much for transparency in Healthcare.
  6. My doctor is very strict about calories. She says no more than 800 per day during the weight loss phase. I've been following her advice pretty strictly and am now less than 10 pounds away from normal BMI. After I reach goal, though, then the focus needs to be on healthy eating in maintainence. Beer

It's better to abstain. WLS patients are at a higher risk for alcoholism, beer has a lot of empty calories, and it's carbonated to boot. That having been said, I've had a couple ounces here and there and it hasn't affected me. I'm very, very careful about it though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  8. My sister had fibroids and didn't get them taken care of. In October, we found her unconscious on the bathroom floor, bleeding out. After a week in the ICU, she finally started feeling better. They told us she wouldn't survive, so it's a miracle she's here. Just saying, I'm sorry this sucks, but please get it taken care of ad soon as possible. 9. It does get better. I started working out at 6 weeks, but for the first month, I felt light headed every time I did cardio. I nearly passed out several times. Gradually, though, the weakness went away. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

  12. I ate a lot of ricotta with bruschetta and rolls of smoked salmon with goat cheese and fresh tarragon. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  13. I've got a perfect spare tire. My legs are muscular, arms are skinny, but every single one of my last 20 pounds is in my belly. If pants fit my legs and hips, they give me a muffin top ???? Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  14. My circle has widened. Not only do I have all of my old friends, I've made some great new ones in my Tae Kwon Do classes. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Sisterly sabotage

It's almost like our house! Here it's me, mom, sister, brother, husband, and my 2 kids! My family wasn't so supportive, though. They're getting over it a bit now, though they're still snarky when I say I can't eat something, like it's a personal affront. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

How much weight did you lose pre-op?

32 pounds in the two months before surgery. So happy I did...I imagine being 32 pounds heavier now when I'm close to the end of my honeymoon period. It's a relief I'm almost at goal. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Lettuce and raw vegtables

Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, the softer fruits, all go down well raw. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, jicama, the harder veggies are hit or miss. I spent an entire afternoon in agony because a carrot got stuck. I was finally able to vomit it up, but it took hours to get relief. Go very slowly and chew very thoroughly. 18. My surgeon wouldn't even schedule surgery until I had lost 10% of my excess weight. It depends on your team, but you might not get to the pre-op diet without some work first. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  19. I buy my calcium citrate at costco. They're horse pills, but I don't have trouble getting them down, and they're about $15 for 500 pills Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm also 6 months post-op, and I also met my surgeon's goal at 4 months. I'm still 11 pounds overweight, though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Need to get dress

I went from a size 22 to a size 6 in eight months. There is no way you can even begin to guess your dress size in June. Wait until May, and even then buy one slightly snug. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Very nervous

I had to lose 10%, and it was pretty easy. I actually lost almost 30% pre-op. I got My Fitness Pal and limited myself to 1200 calories a day. It was premier Protein for Breakfast, a low- carb frozen meal dumped over a mountain of spinach for lunch, and a regular dinner, just measuring portions. I couldn't eat like that long-term pre-surgery, but I did it for two months and lost 32 pounds. It was worth it to qualify for surgery--my surgeon is very strict with weight loss before surgery. She figures of you can't do it, you're not ready for long-term changes. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  23. I did mine at Legacy Good Sam, but I've heard great things about OHSU. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    WHAT'S THE SECRET?!

What are your calories? I also do intermittent fasting, 16/8. I eat 3 times a day: lunch, snack, and dinner. However, I do think that the one most important thing is religiously tracking calories. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
