I was also allowed at a month out. I adore grilled oysters. Seafood is now the bulk of my diet. Calamari is the only thing that I can't eat. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Tylenol issues, help
Vinasu replied to Karen Kenney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you're in a state where it's legal, there are some excellent cannabis topicals. They do not get you high at all. It's just a lotion. They do a great job at controlling muscle and joint pain. I use it for my bad knee after I work out, and it's a Godsend. If you are comfortable going that route, make sure to get a good brand, one made from bud, not trim. In Oregon, a decent cream runs $25- $45 for a jar which lasts me months. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

Ladies, please help!
Vinasu replied to hernewselfie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I spotted for six weeks after surgery. Dr. says it's the estrogen stored in the fat cells being released. I haven't had a dryness problem, but I'd think the estrogen is the likely culprit as well. If it is, the father you go, the more your body bounces back to normal. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
Sports Shaker Bottle with BariatricPal's logo and name - would you be embarrassed to use it?
Vinasu replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'd never use it. No one knows about my surgery and while is never deny it, I'm not advertising it either. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
I had a stupendously easy surgery, but there is no way I could have driven two hours the day after surgery and then socialized for hours more. I was sore and exhausted. And my bladder didn't function right after so I had a catheter. Can you compromise and come a day early to visit? You'll be much better company. If not, take an Uber. Don't even think about compromising your recovery. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

It depends. I had no trouble gulping Water after five days. Others I know sip for years. I suspect most people are somewhere in between. However, you have months to recover before it gets hot again. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Wow. What a story. I am sorry you're having to deal with this, but thank you for sharing. Nurses do make awful patients. My sister the RN ignored a (benign) tumor until it nearly killed her. Mom found her unconscious in a pool of blood. It must be a nurse thing ???? Take care of yourself and keep is updated. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Getting over the guilt
Vinasu replied to KaiserKid's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I constantly wallow in guilt and shame about my weight. It bothered my mom so much, my earliest memories are all about my weight. When I was four or five, she kept a scale in the kitchen to weigh me before and after every meal. She called me Miss Piggy and wouldn't allow me the same foods my siblings got. Honestly, it was a self fulfilling prophecy. I actually was normal weight until middle school when the pounds began to pile on. I was tremendously unhappy as a teen. I don't look in mirrors, don't take pictures. Even now that I've lost the 60 pounds, I am still ashamed of the way I look. I am a successful professional, a great mother, and active in two charities, but when I think about myself, I am just fat. Two weeks ago was the first time my husband's workmates ever met me, because I was too ashamed to be seen before that. Yep. I know I sound like a total loon, but for me fat has always been synonymous with failure. I'm working on it though. One day, I will learn to love my appearance. -
What is on your Trader Joe's Shopping List?

TJ'S bruschetta was a staple during soft foods. They have single serving brie packages that I have to fight the kids for. Their fresh edemame is wonderful. I drink the kefir because it's significantly higher in Probiotics than yogurt. Their roasted seaweed is a delicious, low calorie, savory snack. And I adore their riced cauliflower. Their creamy tomato Soup got me through liquids. I also buy my sublingual B12 there. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

Pre-op testing - exercise evaluation?
Vinasu replied to Caribear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In mine, the Dr. I met with talked about my exercise experience, my knee problems, and then we discussed an exercise plan that would take into account my physical issues and that is would actually follow. It was probably the most helpful of my preop sessions. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -

Ugh so much going on with my body
Vinasu replied to kblanc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to ask your surgical team. It would have been fine on my plan, but every plan is different, and your need to follow your doctor's recommendations. You want to be sure they have no surprises when they cut you open or afterwards. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App -
