    Catheter ?

I didn't have a catheter for surgery, but when I woke up, I was unable to pee. The nurse said it is a complication some people get from surgery. Anyway, I had to have a catheter for two days until my bladder started working again. Two male nurses put it in while I was wishing I was elsewhere, and I took it out myself. 2. Me too! We went out for Thai food last night, and I ordered hot curry. The waitress said, "It's Thai hot, not American hot!" It was amazing. I could not have eaten it before surgery. I don't know why, but I crave spice now. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  3. I'm on team IUD. I'm on my third Mirena. I never have to think about it, and I don't get periods any more. However, both times I've taken it out before, I got pregnant within two months Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  4. My Dr told me no alcohol 3 days before surgery, but you're far enough out even she wouldn't mind. Go for it. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Perspective

Every year we send a huge box to my in-laws in Russia. I was mailing it this week. The box weighed 60 pounds, and I couldn't carry it by myself. Since I'm 90 pounds down, I can't imagine how I used to live. No wonder I felt like crap all the time. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  6. I would like to fit in my wedding dress again. So I really have size goals rather than weight goals. I was happy, healthy, and attractive at that point. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I drink LeCroix 2-3 times a day. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Not feeling full

I felt the same way....until the first time I tried to eat a piece of grilled chicken. Three bites in and I understood restriction. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  9. How fast along are you? How much weight? I always gain 3-4 pounds at that time of the month, but after a week it falls off and takes more with it. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  10. I love food. I'm just a lot more picky about what I eat now. Before, I'd eat all the mixed nuts. Now, I pick out the macadamias. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Say what?!

My surgeon sets patients' goal weight as 66% of excess weight. She says that's realistic for most patients. I exceed that month 4. My goal weight is still 20 pounds away. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  12. I was required to lose 10, but I lost 32. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  13. My Dr. said walk immediately and often, but wait 6 weeks for any other activities to try to prevent hernias. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Sushi: Yay or Nay?

Sashimi, ceviche, and poke are all dietary staples for me. I eat them at least 4 or 5 times a week. My nutritionist loves it too! Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

Can I lie - hernia op?

Just a quick correction: your employer is not bound by HIPAA, but rather by the ADA. Still, I didn't tell anyone at work. It's none of their business. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  16. What is ursidol? Is it to help with gallstones? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes. It prevents them and dissolves small ones for people at risk. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  17. This is exactly what I say. I am not ashamed of the surgery, but I don't share my personal health information, either. If you don't need to know about my new IUD or my hemorrhoids, then you don't need to know about my weight. I don't understand why people think they have a right to discuss your medical care and status. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  18. I love edamame. I'll often make a salad with tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, mozzarella, and chicken. I also make a couple tablespoons of PB2 and eat it with a banana. In a pinch, I'll hey frozen meals. Check out Lean Cuisine Sweet Sriracha Beef, for example, 17 grams of Protein and 190 calories--if you have access to a microwave. There are several frozen meals that are bariatric-friendly. Also, there are some very high- quality lunch meats you can try. Do you have a local butcher shop/ meat market? 19. I also did what Bufflehead did. I lost 30 pounds and started an exercise program. I'm really, really glad I got a jump start on my loss and health. Even if you can't lose weight for insurance reasons, you can start doing the head-work you need. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  20. Though I've had attacks before and had small stones at the time of surgery, my surgeon did not remove my gallbladder. Instead, I'm on Ursidol for the first year. Before surgery I had xanthelasma, cholesterol deposits around my eyes. Those are almost completely cleared up. So I believe the cholesterol that causes gallstones is also clearing up. 21. When you get to purees it pretty much goes away. I was told that, since chewing is such an important part of the digestive process, your body craves it. As soon as I could eat purees, I felt better. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App

    Noo motivation

I don't do the gym. I do martial arts. Since it's a class four days a week, I have to be there. Other people ask about me when I'm gone. The studio had its own Facebook group where everyone discusses classes. The point is, I wouldn't go to a gym either. I hate them. So find something that is fun and that will make you accountable. Getting Closer! So many Qs!

I work in a very appearance-oriented field. I absolutely did not want to discuss this with my coworkers. However, during my 3-month diet phase, I worked really hard and lost a lot. Everyone saw me restricting calories and working out. I only took two days off for surgery, so no one even knows I had it, nor do they suspect. After the initial large loss, I've been losing a steady 10 pounds a month, so no one is suspicious. My family all knows, though. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
