  1. I also was hungry for the first 2 weeks but now its so much better. Once I could eat soft food, mashed potatoes and gravy, eggs, cottage cheese, I was satisfied and all the hunger went away once I could eat solid food.

    Still swollen

I was also done on the 13th and am swollen. I feel like its normal though.
  3. Thanks Mantje! I ordered some off of amazon. I'll let you know how they worked!
  4. I have one near my belly button also Michelle. The other 4 are vertically lined up just below the boob line.
  5. I guess I'll have to try the Olive Oil also. I was told I could remove the tape after a few days or when the incision started to dry up. The one thing that will NEVER happen is ripping it off at once for 5 times. Why couldn't they just use gauze?? I'm afraid its going to open the sutures.
  6. I been trying to slowly peel off the tape and it hurts like hell!!!! This just may be the worse part of the surgery. Any suggestions on how to get the tape off painlessly?

    Tomorrow is the day!

Good Luck Julie! Tomorrow is my day also. My surgery is at 1145 am. I am also very nervous, excited and ready to get this long journey started. Prayers! Micki
  8. I said it was barely worth it because yes it helped me to quit smoking which without it would have been 100 times harder and I succeeded. But after it was said and done, two years of pretty severe depression was horrible. And, depression is MOST def a side effect of Chantix. My physician diagnosed it from Chantix usage.
  9. Yup, just finished making a large pot of chicken stock today. I bought 4 oz. plastic containers to freeze it in. I then pulsed the chicken in a food processor and added chicken gravy, made from the stock, to that. The chicken and broth all got frozen. I plan on getting another chicken to pulse up in the food processor to freeze. This time I will add BBQ sauce, teriyaki sauce, spaghetti sauce, buffalo sauce and taco seasoning. 10. I did quit on Chantix. It helped tremdously. I started to get irritable and having strange dreams after 3 weeks so I stopped taking Chantix immediately. Bad choice as I found out later. Although I did stop smoking 9 years ago, I suffered from very bad depression for 2 years because I quit Chantix without weaning off. I would say it was barely worth it. Under BMI

You may only need a BMI of 35 with 2 comorbidities, high blood pressure, cholesterol, sleep apnea etc...
  12. I am pretty sure you don't have to tell them why you need off while requesting sick leave. I believe if you request FMLA your rights should be protected. I would request FMLA papers from your HR at work for your doctors to fill out. When you turn them back in make sure they go directly to Hr.
  13. Well hi Deja!! Nice to meet you. I think we all come here for positive support. The one thing we all have in common is that we have a weight problem and we need the help of WLS to accomplish our goals. Good luck!
  14. You too Liz!! It's great that you have a support system at home that knows exactly how you feel! I'm excited for you.
  15. Just got scheduled today! Excited and nervous. Any others with the same date??
