  1. I have been taking Miralax for the past year, every morning. I started taking it 2 months post op after suffering with horrible constipation. I have tried to take it every other day, or stop completely, but find myself suffering. I was always very regular pre surgery, so I really hate how I feel if I don't have a BM every day! So I just take it every day, and feel great. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Preventing constipation TMI

I would say my day 3 taking it, I became "regular ". I know it's TMI to some people, but I'm miserable if I don't poop regular/once a day! Lol. I will keep taking my Miralax, thank you very much. The alternative is not pleasant! My family teases me, says I should be on their commercial..."I love my LAX!" [emoji16]

    Preventing constipation TMI

I suffered miserably for the first 7 weeks after surgery. Tried Benefiber. It did nothing for me. I started Miralax, and it was miraculous. I take it every single morning. One capful in my coffee each and every morning. It keeps me regular. I was always regular before surgery and am one of those people that feels miserable if I don't have a BM each day. So, I take my Miralax and am very happy! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Gas post op 2 months out.

I mix the Miralax in a cup of coffee every morning. I can't even taste it. What did you mix it in? You can put it in any beverage. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Gas post op 2 months out.

I was constipated for the first 8 weeks. It made me feel bloated. I tried stool softeners and Benefiber with no success. I take Miralax every morning, one cap full. And it works like a charm. Regular bm's, and my tummy is no longer bloated. You might feel gassy because of the constipation. Try Miralax for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. It has been a Godsend for me because I was so miserable before. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    GAS!

Yes, my NUT told me at a pre-op appt. You ingest air when you chew gum. No drinking through straws either! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I love the Ricotta Bake. Some people say it's too dry but I have not found that to be the case. It's just nice to have something with flavor! Today, I took a can of no sugar added peach slices, drained, rinsed and pureed them. I had a tablespoon over my cottage cheese. It was delish! Ah, the simple fact! 8. I did not lose one pound in the week after surgery. The second week, I saw a big loss. Now third week, slowed down. I've heard this is all normal. Personally, I think my body is so confused! Stop stressing and weigh yourself only once a week or else you will go crazy! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Fitting old clothes!

Me too! I'm down 25 lbs, but it feels like so much more because of inches lost. I am 3 weeks out and my pre surgery clothes are falling off! Luckily I saved a lot of tight clothes, and am fitting in stuff I haven't worn in years! My scale hasn't moved much this past week, but it's ok. I know changes are happening. GAS!

Chewing gum causes gas. It is one of the things they tell you to stop doing. Gas X strips and Mylecon drops worked for me. My gas pains started to subside right around the 1 week mark. It will get better! Don't chew gum, whatever you do! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    2nd week post op

Your surgeon should have given you guidelines and instructions. Every doctor differs but I am on week 3 and on pureed and I have three meals a day plus two Protein shakes in between, as well as a lot of sugar free/non carbonated liquids. Ask your surgeon or nutritionist for literature showing what you can and cannot have at each stage. It's very important. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    What does hunger feel like?

That might be residual gas pains. I am almost three weeks out and I can honestly say I have not been hungry nor full. I am clueless. But in my first week post op I had sensations like that and my MD said it was probably gas. It has since stopped. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

    Just threw up my multivitamin

I am taking Bariatric fusion chewable with no issues. Yesterday, I decided to take the Bariatric Advantage samples my nutritionist gave me and I got extremely nauseous! Thought I was going to hurl. I won't be doing that again. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Hard time losing the 15 pounds

It's amazing how doctors orders and pre op diets vary so much. I was on liquids for the 2 weeks, with the exception of 1 Protein bar per day. 4 8oz Protein shakes. A ton of sf Popsicles and sf Jello. I lost 12 lbs in 12 days. As hard as it was I am so glad they made me do it because it has made the post op fluids and pureed diet stages so much easier for me to handle. It really prepared me. If you can't make these sacrifices now, it is going to be so much harder for you post op. Believe me. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  15. GNC makes pre made Lean shakes. If you like strawberries, they have a strawberry and cream flavor that tastes like strawberry milk. For me, they have been the best tasting. I switched to the powdered GNC Lean but they aren't doing it for me. Would rather spend a couple more dollars for the premade. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
