  1. My surgery was the 26th and I have been the same weight for the last two days. I think sometimes our bodies just need to catch up.

    Day 11 what were u eating ?

Day 13 for me and I am on purees. My doctor said I could start fish and eggs on day 9 when I had my check up and will be here until day 20. Yesterday I had half of a scrambled egg(with milk), and later I had some cottage cheese. Tonight I am going to try a chicken meatball that has been in the crockpot all day. If it seems too heavy or I have trouble with it then I will be having tomato soup.
  3. Two days after surgery I was down two pounds, but now on day 12 I have been the same weight for two days. I think everyone is different and we can't really compare. You will lose, it just may take a few extra days to get rid of the extra fluids you got while you were in the hospital. I also think it depends on your pre-op diet. I think people who have a strict liquid diet before surgery have already had their bodies adjust a little more than people who's bodies are shocked when suddenly they aren't eating. Haha

    Water

My surgery was 9/26 and it takes me about 15 minutes to drink 4oz. My plan said to start with four oz an hour and I have just kept with that. Now I am taking about an hour and 15 to drink a premier protein shake.

    Ate fast food....

I'm allowed soft food including chicken on day 20. Everyone has a different plan. If you are going to Chick-Fill-A you should have their grilled nuggets, they're delicious.

    So WEAK

I had surgery on Monday and I haven't had much pain at all. I am so tired all of the time and I am taking about three naps a day. I am drinking and getting in protein, but I just can't get my energy up. I figure each day should get a bit better and before I know it I will be up and around. Right now I am just enjoying my naps.

    Surgery 9/27

My surgery was 9/26 and I came home the next day with no problems. Luckily I didn't have any gas or nausea. My only problem was a back ache from the hospital bed. I am able to drink ok, but when I have protein drinks I feel so full it is crazy.
  8. My surgery is tomorrow. Good luck to all of you
  9. I hope your approval comes quickly. Mine took about a week when they told me two weeks.

    Messed up

Was it a whole pork chop? I would call your doctors office and tell them what happened because the last thing you want is to get sick and find out there is a leak. Was it pureed or did you chew it?
  11. I am on the 26th. If you look there is a September Sleevers thread somewhere.

    Got approval today

I also got my approval today. I am scheduled for Monday.

    Cheated on Pre Op Diet

My pre-op diet is three shakes a day. Each shake can be traded for 3-6 egg whites with up to two cups of veggies or 3-6 oz of lean meats with up to two cups veggies. I am also allowed light sour cream, light cream cheese(not sure what they think we will eat that with), light mayo, and a few other condiments. I honestly have had an easy time following the diet because there is a lot of food involved, but I still have been thinking of a breadbowl Pasta from Dominos. I know that isn't something I will be eating, but the thought just hangs around. Haha Good luck to everyone with their diets. Especially the liquid diets, that difficult for even a few days.

    Protein shake

I like the pre-made shakes. I think they taste better. I don't have surgery until Monday so I guess after surgery I may change my mind.
  15. That's scary. I hope you really had the sleeve. Did anyone stay with you in the hospital that may have heard the doctor say sleeve or bypass while you were nervous, groggy or not feeling well and possibly missed part of the conversation? My surgeon doesn't do bypass, so I am not worried about that mistake.
  16. My surgery is in a week and I haven't been approved yet. At my surgeon's office they schedule your surgery date the same day your paperwork is sent to the insurance company, so nobody knows that they are approved until after they have their date.
  17. My surgeon required bloodwork, ekg, upper gi, and chest x-ray. Very quick and easy, everything was done in one appointment.

    September 2016 Sleevers!

Autumn, I am also having surgery on September 26. I am so excited and I just wish it would hurry up and get here.

    Surgery date before approval letter?

My surgery is in nine days and I haven't been approved yet. Right now it is "under review". I hope I hear something on Monday. My next surgeon appointment is Wednesday.

    September 2016 Sleevers!

I saw the group but it says it is for RNY. Is that the only group? Is there a private group for vsg? I hate when my groups show up to other people snooping around my fb. Haha

    Got my approval!

Congratulations! I am still waiting on my approval, but I am keeping a positive attitude and crossing my fingers that it comes tomorrow so I won't be wondering all weekend.

    Dr's referral holding me back

Is it an actual referral you need or a primary care doctors clearance? My insurance doesn't require referrals, but I still had to have my doctor say that I am healthy enough for surgery, he talked to me about surgery and weight loss alternatives, etc.
  23. I am excited one minute, nervous the next. I know this is the right decision for me and I definitely want to have the surgery, but it is getting real now. I am lucky to have an easy pre-op diet, so I know I won't be struggling. I hope you get through it easily.
  24. I am having my surgery the same day. I am using my fitness pal, you can log your foods even with low calories. It won't let you complete your diary for the day, but the foods are still there and you just start the new day without hitting complete.

    September 2016 Sleevers!

My surgery will be on the 26th, so I am officially on the pre-op diet now. I am lucky that I am able to have protein and non starchy veggies on my diet as long as my calories are 600-800.
