What's your water drinking schedule?
Jen-2+1 replied to GMen88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's office only allows for three meals a day and no snacks. I start my day with a protein shake. I have my first meal and then 30 minutes later start a bottle of water and don't let myself have my second meal until the water is gone and I have waited at least the half hour. One bottle of water after each meal and an additional four oz get me to my 64 oz by the end of the day. -
Did Anyone Have Their Surgery While Having Their Monthly?
Jen-2+1 replied to ashes_202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started the day of surgery, they just gave me a pad and throw away panties. Honestly, that made me feel better than lying there without any panties. My surgeon doesn't use catheters, they told us that at our meeting before surgery. Some use catheters routinely and some don't. -
I didn't have much pain at all, but I was so tired. I was in bed for the better part of four days, then half way through the fifth day I started to feel more like myself. By one week I was good to go, but a long weekend would not have been enough for me.

That's wonderful! I am slowly inching toward 199 and I wasn't sure if I would ever see the 100s again. This surgery has been so great for me.

I am almost 7 months post op, and I rarely eat over 25 grams of fat. My high days are about 30-33 and regular days are closer to 20,

HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
Jen-2+1 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My 4/21 weight is 202.8 so I am going in the right direction this week. I think it helped that I upped my calories. I was around 750-800 a day and now I am trying to stay over 900. -
HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
Jen-2+1 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
4/14 weight was 206.4, I seem to be hopping in the wrong direction. I have recently started running and upped my calories, so I think it may take a little bit for my body to adjust. I am not stressing over this (too much). -

4/7/17 Starting weight 206 Goal weight 188 -
My doctor asked a few questions at my six month check up and decided that 160 would be a reasonable goal for me to aim for at my one year mark. So that will be a total of 139 pounds down if I can make it happen. He didn't want to choose my goal, but I figured he has a better idea of what expectations are reasonable.

My hair started to fall out a lot at two months and started to slow down around five months. It is still falling out, but not nearly as much as before. I was lucky to start with a full head of thick hair. I didn't take biotin because I didn't want extra body hair growth along with the head hair. I hope you find something that works for you.

Question about expected percentage lost
Jen-2+1 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have seen a page that says if your starting weight is between 250-300 (all different starting weights available) you can expect to lose this much at this point, etc. I haven't been able to find it again. I would like to see it if anyone can find it. -

Over a month stall - need advice
Jen-2+1 replied to avatarkorraa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be six months out next week and I am also eating 700-800 calories. At my office we are supposed to be at 1200 calories at one year and beyond. They said some people get there faster than others. I am losing more slowly now than in the beginning, but I don't see how I can raise my calories because I am supposed to eat three meals and no snacks. I do have three meals and a protein shake because I couldn't meet my protein goal without the extra boost of the shake. -

My weight for 3-18 is 209.6. -
That's great. I was hoping for 100 at 6 months, but it looks like I will maybe make 95. I have about two weeks to go.

I always have normal thyroid test results, but this time I went for even more testing. I don't have my results back yet, but I am crossing my fingers that everything is working as it should. Good luck with your endocrinologist appointment.

Whats your favorite protein snacks??
Jen-2+1 replied to kkami12's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
If you have a Walmart nearby you can check for the protein chips there. My Walmart sells BBQ and Cheddar. I prefer the BBQ. It is two or more servings, but I use them to boost my protein when I am running low. I think they taste good. -

Phentrimine vs contrave??
Jen-2+1 replied to xoxococojay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I took Contrave and it worked great. Unfortunately it had a negative effect on my periods so I had to stop taking it and the weight came back in the blink of an eye. I also tried phentermine, but it made my heart beat so fast that I couldn't keep taking it. I have had great results with my vsg and no negative side effects or drugs in my system. Win-win. -
My hair loss started at month two and just now (five months last week) has started to really slow down. I started with very thick hair and I don't take biotin.
