My mom has had the sleeve and I still take her out on Sundays. You don't have to "forget" about going to a restaurant but you definitely need to be mindful of what you eat and to eat slow so that you don't end up being in pain. Are you there God? It's me, Gigi. I had originally made the decision to get the gastric sleeve when I was 21 years old and in college. At that time, I was very self-conscious about my weight. Being in college and being surrounded by people who were my age and were at least 100 pounds lighter than me made me feel embarrassed that I had let myself go. I had reached a point in my life where I was tired of being the biggest person in the room. I don't like having to avoid having fun because of my size and I certainly don't like feeling like I'm 40 when I'm only 25. I've missed out on way too many things in my life because I let my weight get the best of me. Are you there God? It's me, Gigi.

The first time I had looked into getting the sleeve was in 2012. However, I didn't go through with it due to financial difficulties. In February, I started my process for the second time to ensure that I have my surgery in July.The process was approximately 6 months, which flew right by!
