Given Second chance at LIFE on June 28th 2016.

My first visit to see Dr Srikanth was January 2016 finally ready to make a move in a better direction. He was super thorough regarding different options I had and was very sensitive to the fact I was Super Funsize at 520 lbs he suggested the SADI-S procedure as he felt with my weight it would be a safe and long term tool to help. I was ready for the world and to lose 52lbs as he said was necessary and bang!

Come February was told the Insurance fell through and was denied... My Employer Benefits department worked diligently to battle back and forth to get it covered. I started to feel a little hopeless and ended up gaining more pounds and was in his office early April at 535 (I was so disappointed in myself) But Dr Srikanth never sugar coats and never lingers on failure said pick up and keep going as the weight gone will only better my situation.

So I was back to square one  feeling a little better. A  couple weeks later in April my company got the insurance to cover the whole thing under certain demands, like 6 months diet supervision and BMI over a certain amount. June was my 6 month with Srikanth and they submitted to Insurance. It was still up in the air when they'd approve so I kept hard at low carb high protein with back and forth liquid diet. I'd yo yo but still saw weight loss.

Then on June 23 outta the blue the Doctor's office calls and say your surgery date has been approved and how does the 28th sound? I was happy and cautious as I wish it was for a month out giving me more time to work overtime and get more money, the Doctor shut that down and said, NOW as your insurance has been finicky and best do it while its all good! I stayed faithful on the liquid diet up until surgery date. My final day of surgery weigh in was 506lbs.

So the rest is history and I'm here to share, get and give support for my new found journey. As a new member today I am 2 weeks and 3 days post-op!
