Constantly nauseous
SusieT replied to bypassthatbunni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am blessed, apparently. Have not had any nausea or vomiting so far. (I'm 3 1/2 wks out) But I am an first born rule follower, so have not strayed from the plan one bit. My surgeon does an endoscopy about 1 month pre-op to check for H pylori, etc. He says he doesn't want any "surprises" during surgery. Guess I appreciate him even more now. Antidepressants...anyone?!?!?
SusieT replied to marissa24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I add a packet of Splenda to an applesauce cup. I buy a case of them at Sam's. Helps when my bitter meds are crushed and mixed in an ounce of the stuff twice a day. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -
I'm so confused-unclear diet plan from doc
SusieT replied to Evenkeel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was given a manual created by the team at my Bariatric Care Center in our local hospital that spells it all out... Every stage of eating. There is a RD as part of this team and I take her advice over the office nurses, who don't have degrees in nutrition and give conflicting advice. For instance, Nurse said I could take all 4 Vitamins at once. Nutritionist said to take 2 in am and 2 in pm to get full absorption. See what I mean? Need advice - luncheon Sunday - What do I do?
SusieT replied to healthier&happier4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No! Do not eat anything you shouldn't yet! Curious why you don't want anyone to know..? Nothing to be ashamed of... You are working to get healthier aren't you? You could say you had dental work done (that happened to me during my pre-op fast ) and I just drank while they ate. Heck girl, my dad died 5 days after my surgery. I packed a small cooler with my Protein, my waters, teas, and little jigger to measure and carried on during his wake. Since it's done, no one can talk u out of the surgery now, right? I didn't tell many folks ahead of time, b/c I didn't want to hear all the death and mayhem stories that people are only to happy to share with you. Be proud you are taking control of your life, honey! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -
My surgeon gives everyone a spiral manual created by our Bariatric Care Center here that covers about everything, including the 4 Stages of eating post-surgery. I accidentally ate a 1" square of communion bread (we use pita bread) without thinking when I was only 2 wks post-op. I worried about it, but went on with my liquid diet and had no ill effects... So far. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

How long before you see a minus.......
SusieT replied to Shaunie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got very discouraged when I weighed exactly the same last Thursday as I did the previous Thursday, at my 10 day post op visit to remove my staples. The scale finally started moving after last weekend. Down 12 lbs from weight on day of surgery, down 22 from what they call my pre-op weight. . No one warned me that this stall might happen. Couldn't figure out how in the world when I am only ingesting about 550 cal/day! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -
4 weeks! What are you eating?
SusieT replied to curlysue86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! I am 3 1/2 wks out and still on soft foods Next Thursday, I start Stage 3 and can add deli meat, tuna, canned fruits in juice or light syrup, veggies cooked well enough to be pierced by a fork. Interesting how different the various bariatric centers advise us. Mine is very cautious, apparently. I won't be on Stage 4 till mid-August. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
